kitty-eared-girl's Journal, 05 June 2012

It took twenty days, but I have regained my footing and made progress. It seems that my weakness is to mindlessly binge late at night. Not only do I pick foods that I know full well are bad for me (aka, dipping wheat thins in bleu cheese dressing) but I don't portion any of it out, thereby making it easier for the fat girl in me to win.

Well, the skinny girl trying to break out has had enough, I think.

Was creeping around in the forums earlier and saw a post about pilates and how it really helped the user to slim down. What do you know, Netflix has half a dozen pilates programs available! Started that today, and I think it's going to be a continual part of my program. The one I worked with was fairly easy to keep up with, yet I could feel things working that don't typically (waiting to see if I'm moving like a granny tomorrow because of it).

The last time I broke the 180 plateau I vowed that I would never see an 8 in the tens place on my scale again.....apparently I lied.

NOT THIS TIME.

Now it's in writing. As of May 17th 2012, I will never again weigh 180 or above by my own volition.

PS - has anyone tried that new "Insanity" workout program? I've got a girl on facebook that swears by it, stating that she lost some ridiculous number of inches in 60 days....to be honest though, from what I've seen of it, I don't think I could keep up with it physically....not to mention, everything that I've heard and read has stated that gradual weight loss is easier to maintain than rapid weight loss. Thoughts?

Insanity was kind of fun, it was an easy 'pop in' and do something type dvd. But with that same respect Zumba was fun as well. It all depends on you though, I didn't stick with it, I eventually got bored but to be fair I also have work out ADD lol. I would say, don't swear on anything except yourself. But they're worth a try if you want to do some circuit interval type training stuff. But there are plenty of things if that isn't your cup of tea including belly dancing, bootcamp stuff, yoga and Pilates (which let me tell you... that p90x yoga work out is a beast! I still can't make it through the whole thing!) But just keep at it and remember its okay to lift heavy objects and put them back down they're just as important as cardio :)

You just inspired to me to see what Netflix has to offer in the way of workout videos! - The Crunch Cardio Salsa one looks fun, think I might start that one! Thanks for the idea!!
