Tuesday was a "different" day for me. I did fine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had even worked HALF of a navel orange, and kept within all my numbers. THEN, I started obsessing over that other half of orange. I knew it would put me over on my Net Carbs, but I started to reason with myself (or, rather, the devil started to reason with me: "GOD made that orange. It's not a BAD food. If my body is craving it, maybe it's because I NEED it." I even asked my Pastor husband about it (hoping he would talk me out of it), but he acquiesced and said he didn't see what difference it would make if I ate a whole orange. Well, that's when the trouble began. If you give the devil an inch, he will take a mile! After the 2nd half of orange came the 21 red grapes, then the 1-1/2 cups of pumpkin seeds, then a SECOND piece of Brownie Cheesecake. Mind you, before that 2nd half of orange, all my numbers were perfect. After the gluttonous binge that followed, my Net Carbs were up to 69.45 and my Calories were at 3,360 (over TWICE what I was shooting for). For me, fighting food cravings and eating healthy choices is a spiritual battle; and, I'm sorry to say, the devil won yesterday's round. BUT, for the OTHER 51 days of this year, I have resisted him and let God have the victory He wants for me - I have given up Diet Coke in favor of water, I've been more active, I've made healthy, nutritious food choices and I've been a great example to my 7-year old (89-lb) grand daughter. I'm not going to let this 1-day splurge defeat me. Today, I'm back on track. If I can make it another 50 days with such good results, I'll be MORE than happy!
204.0 lb Lost so far: 55.0 lb.    Still to go: 54.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
