Aww-Haaa... I found out what has been wrecking havoc w/my LCHF. I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. I went through the last 7 days, and out of those 7 days I had an 'unsweetened iced black tea' from Starbucks 3Xs... I just found the nutritional value on its website, and it has 19 grams of sugar in its blended black tea. Argggggg.... Lesson learned. (I added it to the food database so others don't make the same mistake thinking 'Unsweetened is really Unsweetened.)

I wonder how long it is going to take me to get back into Ketosis from my beverage mistake yesterday?

I have been looking at bluetooth smart body composition scales. I have a few picked out on Amazon. I like the one that shows everything at the same time on the screen. What does everyone else use to check for fat % and tat losses?

I am following the LCHF my doctor gave me and diet doctor, but I was just looking at a website called ruled.me and it has slightly different guidelines: 1 hr weight lifting in the a.m., 30-40 minutes walking, and here is what the Keto Calculator came up for me: Based on your inputs, we suggest you eat: 1038 calories. From those, 67g fats, 20g net carbs, and 90g protein. Geezzzz...

Wow that's amazing, what if they served that to a diabetic! Glad you caught it! Draglist a member here can probably direct you in the scale. I weigh at the drug store twice a month, can't take all the fluctuations the body does.

8Patty, I forgot to mention I went through Starbucks for unsweetened black iced tea 3X in the last 7 days. I was traveling 2 hrs each direction to dr appts and needed a pick-me-up. I'm gonna make my own brewed tea (Sun Tea method with black tea) and take a small ice chest for tea and ice for future trips. Thanks for directing me to Draglist for scale info.

You sure got a pick me up, then had a sugar crash I'm sure.

Wow! I'm double checking my "unsweetened" tea now!

As far as your scale question, bf scales are useful with one caveat: they aren't very accurate. They'll give you an idea of where you're at, but you shouldnt agonize too much.

8Patty, I sure did!

ShdwmnkyX, I see body comp scales from $30 to $400. I'm definitely not spending on the high end. Thanks!

Draglist, I know. When I buy through the drive-thru, I am always afraid to get their coffee, that they won't put the right milk (cream) or accidentally put sweetener in it as I take my first sip driving down the highway. LOL!

There is nothing at Starbucks that will do you any good. It is best to avoid it like you would the plague.

Anonb, Sorry for late response. My laptop crashed. Learning how to navigate fs phone app. Yes, I would check. I am checking for hidden carbs in all coffee I purchase from grocery now. 😁

Cmbowden, I looked at the nutritional list for the unsweetened black iced tea I have been ordering. It is described a 'Blend'. The only coffee I would trust is what I make in my own kitchen.

@moondove I can’t belive they can do that - my husband is asking me to ask you - could you taste any sweetness? I have herbal teas I drink at night - and they taste so sweet to me I had to double ck...but no carbs 🤗

Draglist, Can't wait to hear about your comparison results!

LLBuchman33, I agree with you. I am on the road awhile when going to Dr appts or I would never go through fast food places and such. SF Bay area traffic can take me 4 to 5 hours at times to get home from Stanford/Palo Alto.

vkingsley, Thanks! Let me know if the Instaketones works for you. I am reading and watching podcasts on Diet Doctor and it has mixed opinions. I didn't want to spend money if it may not work. Thanks again!😁
