OK - this has gotten ridiculous! I have got to find some control. I have gained almost ten pounds from my lowest weight which was only TWO WEEKS ago! Not ready yet to go back on Atkins (financial reasons), but I guess that's really the only thing that's going to work for me. i guess I can just hope that someday in maintenance I'll be able to have things I love without terrible weight gain!

Diet Calendar Entry for 29 May 2012:
1569 kcal Fat: 76.35g | Prot: 55.73g | Carb: 170.48g.   Breakfast: carrot juice, jillian michaels whey, frozen strawberries, vanilla yogurt, banana. Lunch: potato chips great value, hot dog bun, bratwurst johnsonville, mustard. Snacks/Other: pringles cheddar, clif black cherry almond, kashi go lean roll, water. more...


If you can, just cut out the carbs until you can afford Atkins again. You shouldn't take today's weight as fact. Give yourself todays to rid yourself of the waste from this weekend if you understand what I'm saying.

Oh I wouldn't worry too much. I think it's your body rebounding from switching diets. I think you'll see it start going back down soon. That much of a gain in such a short amount of time has to be mostly water weight. Keep drinking your water and Move Move Move. Walking is free. Don't let this stop you! You can do this!

Some of the gain you're seeing is indeed water weight. Atkins has a tendency to keep us in a somewhat less-hydrated state (that's why there's such a focus on drinking your water), so a switch to ANY other WOE, coming off of Atkins, creates a "gain" in the water our bodies retain. That, combined with the high carb load, pushes your weight higher. I think it's next to impossible to gain a pound a day for 6 consecutive days! Good luck with whatever future path you choose. Ultimately, it HAS to be something you can live with, but, just as important, it needs to be one that YOU believe is healthy for you and has the rationale/research to back it up. Good luck with your decision.

Lol- just remembered that my TOM is this week - I ALWAYS put on about 3 pounds with that, so that helps a bit. Have been a very good girl today - drank all my water, keeping the calories under control. Now if I can just get through the evening, which is always when I lose it....
