Nimm's Journal, 29 May 2012

Had the MRI on Friday morning.

The good news: No aneurysms or ruptures found.
The bad news: I have the kind of life where getting through the day without an aneurysm qualifies as good news.

So while I'm cleared to lift again, I need to lower the intensity while the cranial blood vessels recover from the dilation I put them through. I did my normal routine at 50% weight yesterday, and will step that up to 80% by the end of the week, at which point I should be able to pick up where I left off next Monday.

I seem to have lost about 2/3 of a pound during the downtime, which was as expected from dialing the calories down a little. Everything's in order - time to get back to work.

mindblowingly good news. I think 50% of my 'normal' weight doesn't even qualify as weightlifting. easy does it bud.

@erika: It's quite a reality check when "Don't forget to breathe!" is legitimately helpful advice. Thanks though :)

@Jess: "mindblowingly" good news - well, so to speak. Intentional pun? And as far as the lower weights - the occasional deload week is often a good idea. My conscience can handle a week of goldbricking.

@Milla: It's a relief, but until one more test tomorrow, it's a little premature to say that "all is okay." Different issue, different body parts involved, though. Suffice to say, I'm not getting into those details on a fatsecret journal :)

Jess: It's a problem for me - I see humor everywhere, but have trouble telling when it's -intentional-. You humans with your "emotions" are a puzzle for me.

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Great news!! Okay the fact that you could have an aneurysm any day...not so good; but it also means that you'll know to live each day to it's fullest! Glad you'll be able to get back to work is very cool. Congratulations!
