It's day two of cutting my Victoza injection down. I decided not to try and lower the amount today, but to let it sit for another day at least before lowering it. There is going to come a time in the next week or so that I won't be able to cut the dosage more without having a blood sugar spike when I eat. I'm good with that for now. I noticed my blood sugar was up from what it has been two hours after I ate. It did come down quickly before bedtime, but it's an indication to me that this may be where I sit until I concentrate harder on the food changes. We'll see how today goes and make adjustments accordingly.

I weighed this morning and haven't lost more than the original two pounds. I know there would have been a time (even a week ago) that I would feel discouraged. I'm holding on to the success of eliminating two diabetic meds so quickly. That, for me, is a major success. The weight will follow. It is harder to lose weight as a diabetic than without the disease. It won't defeat me! I look at two pounds ..start to think "how long is this going to take? and is it worth it?". Then I see two pound packages of butter and realize every pound is worth it!

Hubby had a dental appointment this morning. Where I am usually up between 8-9 in the morning, I didn't open my eyes until after 10! What a treat! I cleaned off my desk, started arranging my new craft cupboard, took a leisurely bath and washed my hair. I think today has been a success so far!
