I did something a little different this morning. I went over to a high school and ran on the track. The desert offerings carried a cool subtle breeze. I ran in the lanes starting from the inside and worked my way out and then back in. That way, I didn't have to count ..... And I could put my body on cruise control (very low speed) and just ran with my thoughts. An hour seemed easy on this foamy red surface. As the sun came up I noticed people appearing from nowhere to walk/run the football bleachers. I thought I would give it a try. Going up is not so bad, but coming down is another story. One needs to be careful. My old eyes don't focus as well as they used to, and missing a step could be brutal. I met some friends at 7:00 a.m. after the run at our normal hangout (the bagel shop) .... And again, another first .... I left part of my bagel! Yesterday i left chips, today i left part of a bagel. I'm starting to think that there is hope.

Thats awesome!! What a great idea. I know what you mean about the bleachers, so only do it if you are really confident you wont hurt yourself! Stick to walking them. Make sure your bagel is a healthy grain one, and you can also scoop out some bread to make it thinner. There is hope Glen.

Cindyshine ..... Is there such a thing as a healthy bagel?

LOL the way I look at it is there is always a healthier option. Like the everything bagel instead of the cinnamon one. If you can find whole wheat/grain one even better! My ONE rule is no white flour or white rice. Go grains ANY and ALL the time. Starchy foods makes you crave more starchy foods so its an ugly addiction and it has no nutrtion. Grains add fiber and protein. If you can't go w/ that option, purge some bread out there! The outside is the best part of a bagel anyway :)

Ok I shouldn't have said 'the cinnamon one'. Cinnamon is a spice w/ MANY functions! Its so good for you. I should say get the cinnamon w/ raisins over the cinnamon and sugar one. They need to make thins in more flavors! lol

Cindyshine .... Thank you my friend. Those sites are really helpful. It's funny how easy it is to forget the basics.
