Does anyone else get a sick feeling if they do not eat?
I had been trying so hard not to eat and I began to feel sick later on for dinner.
And then I realized that this symptom could be hindering my losing weight.
I am not sure what to make of it.
I remember in years gone by, I was able to fast, but now it seems an insurmountable wish to do so.
Anyway, I had to have something so I wound up eating some peanuts and an orange which I badly needed. I think I may have needed the vitamin C..not feeling so hot today.

Yes!!! Like nausea or faint like feel. I always wondered why that was. Any ideas? I though maybe I had low iron or sugar or something.

I used to be on atkins a long time ago and felt that way. Low carb higher protein. I struggled to stay on that diet. I stuck with it for like 4 years till i just started feeling bad tired still hungry and desiring carbs. I started keto and i drink a bullet coffee thats around 250-300 calories in the morning and do not feel hunger pangs till 4-5 pm. I skip lunch and eat a big dinner with an eatting window of 4 hrs. Increasing my fat on keto helps a ton. You may need to increase fat and decrease protein to satisfy your hunger. Also the first week of keto you’ll feel those hunger pains. I can say from my experience sticking with higher fat it goes away.

I feel sick if I go too long without eating. I would never fast.

Maybe your body telling you, please, more fats! I do keto, tons of fats, under 20 carbs, moderate protein (50) and I don't worry about calories. The fats keep me SO full! I can't do coffee, but if I could, I would do bullet proof coffee! Anyway. Not getting enough of the right ratio of fats/protein or not getting enough calories will stall weight loss. Sounds funny, I know, but I'm seeing tons of folk experience shift to weight loss when they get it right. Fasting can be great, but doesn't sound like what your body needs now. Later, might ck into Dr. Fung's videos on fasting on YouTube. Blessings!

Lots of recipes for bullet coffee some use butter or mct oil medium train fats that gives you energy blended with coffee and heavy cream and a sweetner like stevia or erythritol. I add collagen powder which is good for joints skin/nails. Ive been foregoing my mct oil a little less energy boost just to help with calorie deficit, but i love the energy mct oil gives me.

Those symptoms are very familiar to me and occur when my blood sugar dips too low. You may need an afternoon snacks like almonds?

try doing baby steps. spread out the eating a little at a time. may help.

I agree horses depends on if you have any medical condition. Im t2 diabetes and fatigue, headaches are similar to symptoms of hypoglycemia which my dad has. If your unsure you can check your glucose with those testers. As someone with t2 diabetes my sugars were never low it was due to me needing more fuel that i fueled with fat and lots of water.

it may be bc your bg is low for you at this articular time. if your body is used to 300+ and you go down to 150 suddenly - your body will panic and send signals to 'fix' the deficit - even though 150 is high while fasting. The body likes stability.

In my case, I get stress-caused acid reflux and it makes it so I can't eat. Liquids go down fine, but solid food makes me even more nauseas. A protein drink is my go-to helper when this happens.

If the feeling persists and is accompanied by lethargy, I would have your blood sugars checked.

I usually feel sick by the 48 ish hour mark. I used to be able to go 5 days easily. Maybe add a splash of milk to tea or coffee

Hello pippa411: this is my third week on keto yesterday I fast for 16 hours , I had my keto coffee at 9 am and dinner at 4:30 pm eat all my food, I skipped lunch , drunk 2 liters of water with electrolytes . What do you eat in that window time ??? My was 7:1/2 hours When do u eat in that window

Elsaverna i do almost the same as you! Except i start later n end later. Tbh i have a bulletproof coffee and make a simple drink with pbfit and flax milk in the morning but it gets sipped through about a 2 hr period. That seems to get me going from 10 am-6/7pm get hunger pangs around 5. I sometimes nibble on a few cacao nibs if its really bad. I wish i could just have one eatting window tried it and my body wasnt ready for it. I skip lunch too because thats when i do my most random snacking and harder to keep track of the food i eat. I still get to have that full feeling at dinner that i enjoy at dinner lol. Trying to fit 800-1000 calories in one sitting with healthy food was harder than i thought!

As one fs member put it I fast best when I'm fast asleep!

Just remember that no matter how many calories you get down, your body will only process 30g of protein at a time. Most of us need about 50 g per day to maintain muscle health and repair if we are active. So a few non fasting days occasionally with protein spaced out throughout the day is a good idea. And now the studies I’ve been seeing lately in the neurological magazine I read point out that our brains NEED fat. LOL 🙋🏻

Thank you all, one and all so very much for your kind and informative comments. I ate better today, things that I actually needed, tho I believe I may just have a touch of flu.
