JMA312's Journal, 23 January 2018

I just comments on anothers journal entry and felt it is worth putting this little tidbit in mine as it seems some of us 'out there' have come back from time away (Holidays, cold weather and what not) However I wanted it in my journal so if I get down I might come back to this entry to remind me, We all go 'those places' away from our woe but it is not the end we can come back and get on track again. Hang in there and never feel you can't come back, you are welcome here :-)
my comment;
"I can relate! I also was ashamed to post my increase after the holidays and cold weather. Seems like I just want to eat and eat&drink out, all the wrong stuff. I know when I do this, even though I might try (sometimes) to eat 'normal' food & portions, there are other factors I do not have control over that just play havoc with my body/metabolism and I think it has to do with the preservatives, additives, artificial & 'natural' flavors that are added to food out there. Especially now-a-days. I don't think there was as much 'stuff' added to food when I was younger! So I am back in track again, and really want to stay away from eating out! Hang in there and welcome back!"

Even when there's not a lot of 'stuff' added to the food, the way it is grown is not conducive to health. Most of our wheat, corn and soy have been sprayed with glyphosate, which is terrible for us. And animal feed is the worst. So we're getting toxins and genetically modified at every turn. The whole society is being experimented with, because these things haven't been tested. Spend the money and buy organic whenever you can, because they are not allowed to spray toxins or use Genetically Modified Organisms - GMO's. Protect yourselves from this shameful corporate abuse of our food system.

something to learn about changing habits an failing ourselves..you gotta forgive yourself and get back into that healthy habit as soon as you can...its an everyday challenge of sticking to what works for you and knowing that from time to time your gonna be tempted..and its ok to mess up..just something your gonna have to work thru...once you learn to forgive yourself an move on..it does get easier to get back on track..

The struggle I have when eating out is finding something on the menu that doesn't have 2 days worth of sodium in it.

@JimV1973 wanting to be in control of my own food because of alergies was one of the main reasons I have narrowed my restaurants going out to a select few. Mongollian grills or other places where you can pick the food AND the sauces and seasonings placed on your food are very good for this aspect if you can keep your meal away from what you are allergic to in other’s meals if there is communal cooking, but then most restaurants cook things on a communal grill. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like seeing my food as it’s prepared.
