Don't be so hard on yourself. waffles are fine. It's a matter of finding a healthy substitute for that waffle. Don't deprive yourself, just find a better way to have it. When I got started I baked a lot of mini blueberry banana oat bran muffins and I'd pour one serving of pure maple syrup into a little bowl to dip them in. Or if you really want that waffle then go all out and make yourself a batch of good pure organic whole grain and your body will at least benefit from the better ingredients. Portion control is also essential.
