One of the guests here started roasting his own coffee beans. He accidentally made blond coffee and was not happy with the results, so he left a few pounds of whole beans in the office for anyone to take. I waited a few days for others to take what they wanted.

Not many people grind their own beans, but I do. I tried this man's roast and loved it. I now have almost five pounds of blond coffee beans. Interestingly, blond beans have a greater proportion of caffeine. My elder daughter is training to be a coffee expert and told me the best ways of storing the beans for maximum freshness.

Today, I plan to make an activity plan. I shall be taking pencil and paper and a step counter on my walk. This way I can start recording my progress. Yesterday, I walked all around Walmart. Walmart or HEB is my inclement weather plan. We have a huge HEB, so they are about the same size. Both have put out some early vegetables. This year, I shall be growing my own. I cannot grow my own meat, but I do know some farmers who grow organic. It's nice living where food is.
