Migraine, neck pain and simply really tired today so not doing much. Not tracking food because I lost track, at least it hasn't been junk food. The body is definitely letting me know I need to track the cause. Getting the MRI re-scheduled on Monday. Spending the $$ means some financial plans have to change. Health is a priority so..............

Hope the MRI can give you some answers.🙆🏻 Maybe get some Epsom salt soaking in the tub while in a dark bathroom with a cool pack on your forehead. It can help. And aleve can help a bit with the associated muscle inflamation.

Hope you are feeling better soon. Hopefully, the DR can get some direction after the MRI results are in to help you. Prayers and good thoughts for you.

Ah, eww. I hope they can find something that'll fix that quickly. I have frequent migraines, but an Excedrin Migraine and an ibuprofen usually take care of that pretty quickly for me. I've had frequent migraines most of my life. I think my first migraine was when I was in third grade. I found out something new about my migraines today, though. I was in getting my eyes examined for new glasses today, and I had a minor migraine while I was doing it. I found out it causes quite a bit of pressure on my eyes. The doctors are all concerned about my optic nerves. :-( I think I might need to start carrying my Excedrin and ibuprofen around at all times just to medicate quickly if it's going to be such a problem, though.

Working on the cause, so thanks everyone, neuro apt after the MRI's. Living with migraines again is not an option. The cost threw a cog in my schedule and I needed to find out some details and take a look at my budget. Luneth, Optic nerve issues are not nice. Taking OTC pain meds can damage your body over time especially your liver. I went through the chronic migraines years ago and with the help of a neurologist, stopped them, but also learned the triggers. I was on some pretty strong meds to stop the cycle and he weaned me to taking magnesium every day, which has controlled them well until recently. Get checked, there can be many causes to migraines or migraine like headaches especially chronic ones. My doc is concerned because my headache journal is indicating that the migraines are associated with the neck pain and increases in swollen glands. All the bloodwork so far is well within normal ranges. Also my blood pressure goes up when hurting (pretty normal) and she doesn't like it staying up like it has been due to pain. Mine is usually like 116/68 not the 145/75 when in pain. I don't want them stopping my life again. I have too much I love to do. Sitting in a chair hurting out of the sun is not my life.

My neurologist injects my occiptical nerve every 6 months.. this daily magnesium and propranolol ( beta blocker) have helped massively Hope they get you sorted soon 🤗🤗

Definitely not, and never take that you just have to live with the pain sweetie, being in nursing I view tons of this type of diagnoses insurance companies and all of there process of eliminating everything before you get results is madness... Keep on them is my advise.. the squeakiest wheel gets the oil...hurt their ears with your squeak!! Hope you feel better;)

@Luneth you need to see a COMPETENT neurologist if you are having more than 8 migraines/month. Especially if they are effecting the pressure on your optic nerve. Mine have been known to shut down my eyesight alltogether. And as WFN stated there are long term effects to taking OTCs Ibuprofen more than 8 times in a month as well as Aspirin (in Excedrin) can cause rebounds. The caffeine in the Excedrin migraine is only effective on the vessels in the brain. The OTC’s carry an increased risk of ulcers and liver damage and you should be taking magnesium citrate to help that anyway. But part of the reason for migraines is the nerves screaming for magnesium they think. Ionic magnesium, bathing in epsom salts, ir taking a citrate can help. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@ Luneth, you really do need to get some help to find the cause. I've been able to control mine since 2009 being aware of environmental triggers and taking magnesium. They are back and I am trying to find out why. There are many other causes for migraines and chronic migraines can be dangerous to your health.

@ poppycom, I used to be on propananol also and was weaned off of it very slowly. It stopped the cycle. Just FYI a side affect is weight gain.

@ Poppy and WFN yesh, yeah, took that and about 4 other ‘wonder’ beta and calcium channel blockers through jr high and high school! Ugh! Used to give me the shakes, sweats and could barely think around 3/4 of the side effects! 🙇🏻‍♀️Many of the meds for prevention have a bloating or weight gain side effect. One if my worst weight gains was 120 lbs in 6 mos on amatryptaline right after the neuro refused to let me return to work. Was on that with a cocktail of depakote, then sansert, then paxil, then levadopa I believe. Before Imitrix injectable finally came out and I coukd take that and DHE injectable home with me. Because the realised that biweekly trips to ER for IV’s weren’t cutting it.🙋🏻Never got much better. I just stopped going to the ER because the doctors wouldn’t treat me. Sometimes when you are triggered by barometric changes and scents and cooking smells and fragrances there isn’t a whole lot you can do to make yourself bulletproof but live in a bubble. 🤷🏻‍♀️

WFN and SMP.. I have to stay on the the propranolol for benign tremor in my hands after an accident 8 years ago.. but the double whammy of increasing doses of nortryptylline and propranolol over the last 2 years certainly haven’t helped my weight, but it’s just another thing to add to the battles 😁🤗

Poppycom, sometimes you just have to stay on the drugs, no matter what the side affects, like me and the steroids for asthma. Hate them but I rather like breathing. Smprowett, I was happy to get off the beta-blocker due to the side affects also. The weather affects me as well and I've eliminated all the chemicals, artificial scents, chemicals in food etc as my doc says I'm "chemical sensitive". I can't control it much out of my own environment. It's interesting that my migraine and asthma triggers are pretty much the same. I'm back to a detailed journal for migraines again.
