Day three on track again. It's starting to feel more like my few days the last couple weeks were more deviations from the norm rather than vice versa. Wonder when that happened? Think I'm still going to try to check in on that for at least the 7 days (longer if I have a splurge-type day this weekend which I typically do) just to make sure I am back on track.
Forgot to weigh in this morning - guess that's what happens when I change the day. But today I'm feeling really good about myself (pretty guys be damned).
Will try to run this afternoon - I think this will be a precursor for this summer. In the past I haven't been very good at running outside when it's hot, but I've found that I run better when I'm outside. So I have to figure out how to work through the warmer days and still get a good workout in. Ideally I'd like to be able to do it in the evenings as they are finally going to free up for me some, but we'll have to see. Maybe as I lose some insulation it'll get more bearable :P

If it's too hot, I agree running at night would be ideal, unless you can suffer through getting up with the sun-in that case it tends to be cooler as well. If there a nice cold pool you could run to-motivational tool?

I don't seem to have a problem getting up in the early morning and swimming - but I think it's partly because I know there's a team and coaches there and even though they don't, I convince myself that I have to hold myself accountable to them. Running outside at that time would be much cooler, but also pretty dark - though I need to consider it more. I'm sure my puppy would love getting some early morning exercise with me :)

I'm in the same position as you about the running... I like to go around 5pm which is going to be pretty darn hot in the summer. I don't like to workout after dinner though, and my mornings already start at 5! Maybe planning around the hotter days, making your runs on cooler days. Not sure where you live if there even are "cooler" days lol.

It's Colorado - so we can have a summer where we have three weeks of 95+, or we can have 60 for a couple weeks. It's so hard to know. Given how warm it's been already, I'm thinking it's going to be a hot one. Right now what's working for me is when I can't get outside, I go at least get a run in on the treadmill. It's boring, so I don't always run as long, so instead I tend to do some speed work. Helps keep it interesting and keeps me working out. Then on Sundays I try to go out earlier in the morning (but still after a nice sleep in) for a longer run.

RE: Lindsay's Journal - Just curious - Does your cousin edit Men's Health? or were you referring to Lindsay's comments?

He's an editor - yeah. He used to be an editor for Popular Science, and moved to MH from there. So he does more of the life health stuff I think than the physical stuff.
