Hhg's Journal, 03 May 2012

Yesterday I gained 3 pounds in one day! Makes absolutely no sense to me! Have not strayed from my eating plan in the least. Carbs always under 22, calories avg 1200. Frightened! The only word I have for what I'm feeling. May be time to get some blood work done...

Two words -- water and waste. Are you weighing daily? IF you are, be prepared to see fluctuations. I weigh daily but only record once a week. When I see a slight gain I try to not let it freak me out and know I need to drink MORE water so I am not retaining anything. Stick to it -- you see more downward than up :)

IMO, you need more calories. I was under eating for a while which stalls me. I've up'd my calories to 1500-1800 and the scale is moving downward again. Eat a ton of veggies and drink a ton of water and you'll see results. Best of luck!

Bloodwork would not be a bad idea, if for no other reason than to assure you that something isn't amiss. They can always do a thyroid test as well. However, I'd immediately drop the Atkins bars and all sugar-free candy (I know....it's hard). Both contain sugar alcohols and you may be sensitive to them. They are known stallers for certain individuals. Once you're rolling down the road in weight loss, you can add them back a little at a time, if you still want to, to see if you'll be able to handle them and in what quantity. Good luck.
