The highest number I ever saw on the scale was 270 I do not count that as my starting weight as it was due in part to some conditions outside my control. When I gave birth to my daughter I got an epidural. The anesthesiologist had messed up and caused my spinal fluid to leak, happens more than you'd believe. When this happens it causes an epidural headache. Worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I felt like I had been in a car accident. When you are laying down you feel fine, but as you raise your head the spinal fluid isn't there to cushion your brain causing the worst headache ever. Hangover headache on steroids. I didn't really want then to continue sticking me with needles. They told me I could drink a lot of caffeine to see if it helped apparently in some cases it does so they were pushing sodas on me. I was breast feeding and trying to care for a newborn, but I decided to go home rather than have them do a blood-patch. They draw blood and stick it in your spine. When I was home I could not turn my head too look behind me. I realized I wouldn't be able to drive. So 4 days after giving birth to my daughter I went to the E.R. While my husband took her to her first pediatrician visit. They dehydrated me, then over hydrated me. They did the blood patch then accidently ripped the I.V. from my arm causing blood to go everywhere. I felt so much better though. We went home and the headache was gone. A few days later my entire body seemed swollen, especially my right leg. I had my husband take me to an Urgent care, because at this point I was scared I had a blood clot. This is when I saw the highest number I have seen on the scale. They told me to go home rest put my feet up. I still don't know if I really weighed that much due to being fat or if it was everything that had happened that caused such an increase in a week. The last month of my pregnancy I was 254. To gain 15 pounds in a week seems a little crazy. I was wearing clothes when I was weighed at urgent care, but still.
