posterchild66's Journal, 30 April 2012

Nice weigh in today at 227.0 to start the "week".

Monday is my 1st workday, I have 3 day weekends every week. I do my best weight loss work on workdays because of the structure. Also because I am not sitting at home bored. I can eat my cereal, have a sensible lunch, and a light dinner.

The days I am off are much better for exercise though, but hopefully as the days get longer I will be able to get out and move after work. Right now I get off at 1700, and it gets dark by 1800. That is quickly changing though as the days get longer. It also is much cooler in the evenings after the sun begins to set. I am not realizing how insane my morning jaunts into the sun are.

Yesterday I made Butternut Squash, Fresh Chicken, and my famous vegetable stir fry. The problem was nobody ate it but me. I have a few pet peeves, and this is one of them. My kids ate like birds when they did decide to eat. Of course they ate chips, snacks and other junk later. I was mad, and I showed it. Wife was at her 2nd workout of the day, she just does not get that it isnt what you do, it is what you eat. She thinks she can eat like a pig, and workout twice a day and get somewhere.

Yup, that's where my wifey is too...she is getting up early to go to a Yoga class (sweating and getting sore muscles...so they must do something) then comes home and complains that she is only losing ounces and not pounds...I try to tell her that it's what you eat that makes the biggest difference, but then I get the "...you're not the only one who knows how weight loss works..." discussion...and she's right, but I might be the only one in the house...or at least the only one who follows it...??? As for the kids, I totally get your frustration...two of my three daughters won't try anything new...bland stirfry, hot dogs & kraft dinner, hamburgers...not too much to choose from when trying to eat healthy...and I lost it last week over the snacking...grocery shopping on Monday for the week, came home after work on Tuesday and all the lunch snacks were gone...they devoured them after school on Tuesday...I kinda lost my cool, but I got my point across...now they have to ask if they can have one in their lunch...friggin kids!! I do need to keep my cool though, the twins are only 10 & the teen is 13...not cool to freak out...Later.
