Hey all just another quick one today weather grim blowing a gail and raining, little lady full of cold no school tomorrow, little man got upset tummy suspect it is the antibiotics, but me and dh are great :0)
So am having a few problems with the calorie counting today nothing major but hope it doesn't cause any weight gain etc, so here it is in my calorie counting book it says one thing about dark and white chicken roasted and on the chicken itself it says another amount there is 70 calories difference also parsnips if baked in the oven or just raw there is about 60 cals different, so ihave recorded it as the higher number and hoping that if it should be the lower number the fact that i may only have had 1550 -1600 calories instead of 1800 it wont hurt things that is my calorie intake for tomorrow, and today as i have been busy shopping etc my calorie intake is only about 1500, will this make me plateau or gain weight if i have 1800 after that or will it be ok? anyway logging off now time to make some tea xxx

Don't worry about plateau's for just an odd day 'possibly' going lower, you will be fine. You are only in the first bits of weight loss on the calorie control. If you consistently only ate below 1200 calories for a month or more, you MAY plateau - even eating like that wouldn't necessarily make you plateau. When I first started, I ate 1200ish for 3 months and didn't plateau (not that I am advocating that- if I did it again,i wouldn't go that low). I lost at least a steady 2-3 pounds every week. Sorry to hear J and D are poorly. I think you could be right about D's being the antibiotics. The reason roast parsnips are more is when they roast - the water comes out of them (therefore uncooked they may 50grms - cooked they may be only be 30grms) also the assume if you roast - you are putting some form of oil on them. I usually weigh mine raw and use that as my calories and then I count any oil I use. Re the chicken, I would imagine the packet is using an 'average' of dark/ light mea t estimate calories... Whereas your cal count book is being specific about dark -v- light meat.

that just what chris said about the parsnips, i did weigh it raw and measure out oil as cookin roast potato too so i have divided 3 tbsp between the four of us - would it be the same for raw and roast carrot aswell it didn't say

ooohhhh forgot to tell you all got some good bargains at farm foods today x3 1.7kg chickens 2 big bags chicken drumsticks, 30 pork loin steaks, 56 rashers of bacon, 8 chump lamb steaks, half a crispy duck with pancakes and sauce, 8 large battered cod steaks, 30 aunt bessies yorkshire puddings, 36 pack walkers crisps, x2 2 litre pepsi max with lime, 6 apple pies (mini ones for little lady) 6 glaxy chocolate bars again for little lady 48 richmond sausage all for £50.00 good eh then i went over to asda and got some salmon on offer :-)

Wow... You have got some bargains ... I would think, yes it would be the same for carrot and anything else you roast
