ctlss's Journal, 27 April 2012

It is about 10:30 Friday night. Dinner is done, mom has gone to bed, Dan and I are watching Ghost Adventures, he is having a light beer, and I am having a 0 carb margarita.

It has been a busy week. Mom's ankle is better, but her blood pressure has been really high. The doctor is adjusting her meds, but it has been slow to respond. She is having severe headaches (probably migraines) due to this, so we are also trying to get those stopped. Bless her heart. She just hates to complain, but I can tell that she is really suffering. We went out to lunch and shopping today, and she got a couple of pairs of pants and some shirts. That is where I found the 0 calorie, 0 carb margarita mix. It was the best thing I found all day! lol

Food continues to go well, walking when I can. The weight is the same.
My calories have been all over the place, high then low...I really need to get them leveled out.

Well, that's all the news that's fit to print from my corner, hope all is well in your's!

Hope they sort your mums blood pressure out. I think you are doing great. The worry about your mum health and whats going to happen to her when she returns home must be playing on your mind especially when lying in bed before sleep come's, that staying on track and no gain weight is an huge achievement. If you think back to other times when family health was in crisis, you would after the doctors/hospital appointment you would have gone out and had a "I DESERVE THIS" treat. So be proud of yourself. And someone is watching over you for you to fing the margarita, they knew you deserved a relaxing treat. In W.Watchers years ago. a lady that loved her brandy used to get diet 7up, and add brandy essences, she also had her own tray of BRANDY or RUM icecubes made in freezer. It worked for her.

Hey Stef - Worried a little for your mom...do hope the med's improve her BP situation/headaches quickly. Does your mom use oxygen? My mom gets bad headaches when her oxygen levels drop. She is not faithful about using the oxygen (fights w/ me) until the headache is gone, then she is happy! LOL! OH, and BTW... NAMES...I NEED PRODUCT NAMES on the 0 Carb Margaritas please!!!!!!! Much Love.

Carmel, those brandy and rum ice cubes sound delicious! I keep my tequila in the freezer so it is nice and cold when I want to do shots! (that is about once a year...lol) I am happy that there has been no gain, but sure would like to see another loss next official weigh in. Ah, well, life, what can we say...it often gets in the way of our greater ambitions! lol

Paula, to be honest I am also. No she doesn't need oxygen, her 02 sats are 97% on room air. Your poor mom! That must be so frustrating for you...hugs! The margarita mix is Jose Cuervo Light-Zero Calorie...I found it at Wal-Mart and suspect it is a brand new product. $5.96 for a half gallon size jug...I bought them out! lol Now I have it on hand! lol Have a great weekend...much love back!

Hope your Mom gets feeling better soon. Isn't it something that you can take a drug to cure one affliction and it causes another.

My calories have been all over the place too...I'm going to have to take the time each evening to plan my food for the next day...no more "lazy" food (which tends to be high in calories)...slow cooker & oven timer are going to be my best friends for the next while. It just seems that everyone is starving when I get home at 5:30, so I cook something quick...when if the meat was at least done, it would only take 20-30mins to whip up the sides...Good Luck with your mom, and good luck getting focused on your diet...Later.

Buffy, thanks. She just has so many things going on, and it seems we just can't get a handle on this blood pressure issue. And yes, it is something! Poor mom!

Thanks, madjak. I actually haven't been eating too much, so much as not eating enough. Yesterday was about 1050, the day before 1400, the day before that about 1050, and so on...I really need to eat no less than 1400 and aim for closer to 1600...but fall short all the time. Just too much going on. Hope you are able to get focused as well.

Oh Stef i am envious (in a very nice way) of your daily steps achievement. I am so impressed and would love to join you in that achievement. I will try harder and try to follow your example. Sorry your mum is having such a hard time. Here's to 0 calorie margaritas.

Sazy, thanks for your words of encouragement. I am kind of disappointed as I haven't been walking the way I need to, but kind of getting it in as time allows. I am having another margarita tonight, and when I do I will raise a toast to you! LOL HUGS!
