Fritzy 22's Journal, 21 November 2017

Although I am not following a low carb diet - I am thinking of giving up my daily cup of hot chocolate for a couple of weeks to see if I see any difference in my weight loss. Seem to be at a stall, although I have had a few cheat days which hurt me. And when the weather is colder I tend to cook more, and heavier foods. Yesterday I made a meatloaf and had a pretty big serving then and also for breakfast today. I have another piece for tomorrow and the rest is in the freezer. The hot chocolate will be tough, I rarely drink coffee so my morning drink is the hot chocolate. Anywhere from 6 to 12 ounces of skim milk which helps my protein count but combined with the cocoa mix....................well, will see. I will try 2 weeks without it starting December 1 (have to use up the milk I have).

Ooo, perhaps weaning yourself off the cocoa totally? When I bake meatloaf, I slice it when it's cooler (into normal serving sizes) and wrap wax paper around slices, placing in freezer till I want a slice and then microwave it.

There are some pretty good meatloaf recipes that don't use any crackers or oatmeal fillers. I read that the fillers were included in meat loaf to stretch the meat during the war. I guess the calories would be lower without them. Also, Swiss Miss has a no sugar added Hot cocoa mix that only has 60 calories. I tho't there was a brand out that had only 25. I'm going to Walmart today so I'll look for it.

to184: I've been drinking the same hot chocolate daily since 2004 or maybe even before that. I have cut out the miniature marshmallows! I was thinking about it this morning on my walk and may just have a glass of skim milk in the mornings until it's gone. I like a hot drink in the morning. I like tea but have to put honey in it. Dboza: I rarely make meatloaf but had thawed some ground beef and didn't feel like making chili again. I always thought my mom put oatmeal in the meatloaf to keep it from falling apart. Didn't work on this one, it crumbled into just a mess. I have some sugar free hot cocoa mix, I like making it with milk to get some more protein in my diet. I usually don't get enough protein.

It takes some time to adjust to non-sweet cocoa, but I have it often, in hot liquid fat bombs, and in chia pudding. Chocolate is wonderful!
