I haven't been logging my food which is what really makes me pay attention to what I eat, gotta get back on that.

Last Saturday I did a 17.4 mile hike across 13 peaks -- it was so amazing that I'm doing it again this weekend, except taking it a step further. Only 16 miles, but 6 high peaks in the Adirondacks, in weather that has a high of 32°F//0°C (The feels-like temperature isn't supposed to get over 28°F//-2.5°C). I have this weird juxtaposition because while I'm hiking I'm nonstop eating -- especially in the winter, simply to keep up energy to burn to keep myself warm and to keep myself going for the entire time, but during the week I'm eating a lot less. My question is when is it best to start eating more during the week? I know I'm supposed to eat big before going so that I have energy to burn at the start but I'm never sure where to start, and I hate starting out feeling like I'm heavier than normal. Maybe that's just personal balance I have to find.

I've also taken up rock climbing and bouldering, which is one of the best workouts I've gotten in a long time. Side note: while I love gym workouts, I love getting my workouts through other activities so much more. I'd so much rather be climbing a mountain or on the court than in the gym. Anywho, I have high hopes for what this change in approach looks like for me. With the cold weather setting in, I'm interested to see how much my habits change.
