granniemedic1's Journal, 14 April 2012

Two days ago I had all the fluid removed from my band. It gradually got tighter without me noticing until the past week or so I was unable to eat anything solid. Morning when I am naturally tight it could only be coffee and a plain (light) yogurt. By noon I could handle a greek yogurt if I went really slow. Dinner? Ha! One night I tried soggy Life. No go. By the morning I called I realized that I was only able to handle cold fluids gradually.

The PA removed the entire 3cc of fluid then sent me for an immediate upper GI. The tech said it looked pretty good but he isn't the radiologist. I see my surgeon in 2 weeks and we will go from there. My fear is that I will be so hungry that I will want to eat all the time. I guess I will have to set a calorie limit and stick with it.

The thing that strikes me about my weight is that when I set my mind to really eat properly I dropped 5 pounds right away. Since then it goes up 2, down 1, and back and forth. When I weighed at the office I was like 167 something! Ouch! Yeah, I know I was dressed and had shoes on but they were all fairly light. This just HAS to change.
