I am a diabetic. I believe I have my blood sugar somewhat under control, my Dr. would beg to differ, lol, but It's not to far from the mark. I've been trying to loose some weight now for several years. I have to admit, I haven't really been putting in the work I should in order to achieve that goal. When I eat the "right" foods, I eat in vast quantities. I generally eat the wrong foods, but I try to limit them to maybe one meal a day. Beginning January 1, of this year, I decided that I was willing to do whatever it took to loose some weight. I began my own regimen. It wasn't bad, and I was in face losing some weight. But then I noticed that I was taxing my body, overdoing it. My body was in pain every other day. I think I jumped in to fast, but anyway, I was pleased with my result. Then I decided to try an exercise regimen that I found in a couple of books I purchased from Men's Health magazine. I like the work out, but they were a bit intense. I also tried a video I purchased from the TV show, "The Biggest Loser." Both were encouraging, but they taxed my body even more. I began with the excuses, this is not for me, it's for younger people who are more in shape than me, my body is to old for this. So I turned it back a little. I began doing less and less, but I did notice that the exercises I began with seemed to be less taxing on my body. So , I work out, full body workout, maybe twice a week. It's not that I'm bored, I just know that my body is not what it was when I was 20, so I don't work as hard. But I'm realizing that If I don't put the work in I won't get the result that I want, and that is to ultimately loose weight and take better control of my diabetes.
