Aslo, Holy Hell is there a lot of CRAPTASTIC diet food listed in this food database. I've tried to add a single serving of full fat yogurt and cannot locate one listing. There are 15 PAGES of Low Fat, Fat Free, Light, No Sugar Added, etc. but no standard, plain old yogurt. Also, there is surprisingly little dairy alternate info, at least for the dairy free products I enjoy. When I eat and shop and cook I focus on balancing the intake of healthy fats and oils and natural sugars with protein and carbs and veggies, not on picking "Diet" anything.

So here's the thing: Your body NEEDS fat, it also NEEDS sugar, granted both are only needed in moderation, but low fat or fat free diets have been proven not to accelerate weight-loss, not to mention, your heart needs oils to keep healthy. Super low fat diets also dry out your skin, and make your hair lose it's luster and your nails brittle. I personally don't want to suffer so much beauty damage for an extra .5lbs/week.

A Diet with balanced essential fats, along with a sharp reduction in sodium and artificial and simple sugars (basically cut out the processed foods) HAS been proven to make a difference. Since I'm sick of having to guesstimate or hunt down the nutritional info for items that are full fat or made with natural sugars, I've decided to make my mini-project for the week adding Healthy Nutritious FULL FAT and SUGARed food items for those members who's dietary restrictions will allow such foods.

Break free from the diet food and have an easier time dieting with fresh healthy options.

On a personal note, I was so sick yesterday, that I barely ate anything, and don't have the energy or will to track down and input yesterday's food and exercise. (Does Puking one's guts out have an option listed in the drop down?) Either way, I did not eat much, chicken soup, saltines, and some plain yogurt, so I'm not too concerned with counting.

Thank goodness my appetite and energy came back today, and it only took my usual three cups of coffee ;) I also bought some Bcomplex vitamins because my doc suggested adding them on days I feel sluggish. so far, so good. I even got to work on time.
