Denial or the naked truth?

I have been in denial!!!
I thought I can do it without ever checking!!!
But I noticed over the last couple of month that I didn't like my reflection anymore.
It's not that I don't exercise, or that I stuff myself with junkfood all the time. Luckily I don't care for takeaways!! I love fast food i.e apples, bananas, peaches, figs....you name it.

But and yes there is a big BUT: I have overindulged: Too much dark chocolate, too many glasses of wine, a packed of crips after dinner although I am not hungry, snacking on nuts at my desk because I am bored and just general portion control has been out of whack. I am using smaller plates now....but if I fill them twice?!

The naked truth: Last time I weighed in - 608 days ago - on the 27/01/16 -
today on the 26/09/17 - 73.5 kg!!!

I guess it could be worse, but nevertheless it is just simply too much for my 5 foot 6 frame.

Usually it depresses me if I step on the scale as it never says what I would like it to. But yesterday I just needed to be honest with myself. And it just told me what I already knew!!!

So what am I going to do about it? Carry on regardless?

Of course. No good burying my head in the sand. Pay attention to what goes into me. Listen to my body more. Step up the exercise a notch. Pick up the heavier bells, powerbags, lower the TRX for more resistance, increase the level of intensity on the eliptical.

Breath!!!

That means carry on with the yoga practice as it relaxes me, focuses me and centers me.

So if you are reading this: Encourage me :)

Made my first batch of seitan last night. I am excited to try it at lunchtime. High in protein and low in fat.

The garden is starting to slow done now. I had a fantastic crop of beans, tomatoes, carrots, beetroot, courgettes and butternut squashes. My autumn raspberries are still going strong :). Foraged walnuts over the weekend that still need to dry. Still need to pick sloes.
Have you noticed that there is an abundance of berries and nuts this year? Are we in for a cold winter?

Happy Days :)

I'm sure you'll get on top of it again. You're already eating the right stuff so it probably is just about portion control. I'm thinking winter will be cold too - lots of signs pointing that way. Take care and all the best with your goal 🤗

Ok Schmetterlinge, how about measuring all your food and putting it into the FS food diary? That would be a good start. Also, even when maintaining, weigh yourself regularly - at least once a week. It will stop you getting any nasty shocks in the future. I'm only going by experience here of course. Yes, we must be heading for a cold winter as it's only September and I have a cold. No logic to that - lol - except through all these mild winters I haven't had one, or only very short colds lasting 24 hours max. It's obviously a sure sign 😁

Sounds like you have this figured out. You're eating well with the exception of a few indulgences (we all need them). More/heavier exercise I personally think is key with some HIIT thrown in. Break through the comfort zone. You will succeed. #Truth

Welcome back and thanks for sharing your experience. Hearing the same scenario from different people, time and time again keeps me logging and using Fatsecret...

You should measure yourself too. Then when the scale isn't giving you the answers that you want, you'll see the difference in measurements. Especially as you're exercise - a pound of fat weighs the same as a pound of muscle, but takes up more room. Non Scale Victories are important. Good luck - you can do it - we all can.
