Tell yourself "Goodies are POISON" while making sure you have a clothes pin on your nose

You can do it!

I know that's hard - I have so much trouble with that myself! Hard to walk away from free goodies, but I tell myself "I didn't ask for this, and I didn't pay for this, so why should I eat this?" It works - not always, but it does help with the "free goodies" mindset.

maybe you can convince all your colleagues to join you in a fasting day so no one brings treats in? !!

Chesgreen - you're always on point, appreciate it, brother! Agalaxywithin and Thsiun - thanks for the encouraging words! Taurielfan - never thought of looking at it that way, guess "free" ALWAYS has a price! Hickory - hmm, think I'd stand a better chance of convincing these guys/gals to eat a Krispy Kreme covered in broccoli than a fast (still, I'd want to try, just to see the reactions on their faces).

I've changed - I get mad now when people bring in crap to eat and share. keep your crap at home and instead lets bring in some healthy stuff. Stop the cake and ice cream nonsense. I may sound indignant but, I would really appreciate people trying to help others dieting or not.

You've got this! I like Taurielfan's way of thinking. And perks'! For a while I worked in a place where it was expected to bring sweets on one's own birthday. I kept HR from putting my bday on the general list, but then warmed up to the practice as an idea. The department I was spending a lot of time in (and liked, unlike my own) knew I was influence-able and their boss carefully made it known they'd prefer pork or good coffee to the usual sugar. So I brought both pork I'd prepared at home, and an insulated vat of good coffee a local bakery was happy to prepare, without even asking a deposit for the can. Yes, like perks says, leave your "treats" at home. And none of this whole-grain fake-healthy imitation crap they then dramatically pressure to eat bc they went to effort to "accommodate" you. 184, you're rocking it! They might just come around once they've seen your success.

I have gotten really good at turning away goodies at work! You will get there too!

I usually try and imagine a bad tasting version of whatever the (often baked) item is and tell myself that is what the item tastes like (too sweet, under cooked, etc). This makes it easier to walk away from.

I am an allergic person and so when someone asks me if I want a piece of cake I say I am allergic. I really am allergic to eggs which comes in all types of baked goods. But these stoopid office snacks are not good for anyone big and small, young and old.

Wow - all these are GREAT suggestions... too bad no one brought anything REALLY tempting in today... day's almost over (and so am I)!
