So today is Day 6 for me on SBD. I was doing really well, until yesterday and I caved and ate some biscuits w/ honey in the afternoon. I have a really hard time pulling myself back from the ledge when I do this. I'm such an all or nothing kind of person, so when I slip w/ my eating, I tend to feel like it's all ruined now, I might as well chuck it, and then I want to eat everything in sight! So, I trying some new self-talk today, telling myself I haven't ruined anything, those biscuits aren't going to make me gain what weight I've lost so far...as long as I get back to it today and don't continue down the carb-trail!!! I've stuck to plan today, and I'm really chugging the water. The sugar cravings have snuck back in, but I'm staying busy and trying not to dwell on it. I have to get in exercise today since I've only exercised twice this week so far. All in all, things are not too bad, and I was still down a few lbs this morning...yay! :)

Diet Calendar Entry for 26 February 2010:

Everyone has triggers, don't beat yourself up to badly, we all have them. You already know what to do, just jump back on the band wagon and chalk it off as a reward for eating well the rest of the time.

Today was a bad craving day for me. It's my 2nd day and today was a bday in my dept. at work. It was super hard b/c a coworker is a pro cake maker and brought in one. It smelled amazing but I somehow managed to stay away even though string cheese didn't seem as appetizing. I think I am going to try sugar free jello or a popcicles to help curb the sweet tooth. I hope that works. Keep me posted if you find something that helps you, it may help a newer person along this difficult trail :) Good luck!

Thanks fellow Beachers! I just saw these comments, so sorry for the delay... Gasperj...I found some sugar-free Crystal Light popsicles that I'm really enjoying. I was trying to keep them for dessert after dinner, but it does help to have one (or two!) when the cravings pop up. I think they're only 10-15 calories too. I've read a little bit about sugar addiction and how there's a detox period of about 5 days when you stop eating it, with day 3 really being the worst in terms of how you feel (icky!) and how strong the cravings can be. After that it starts to get easier. I know this is true for me! Once I get past the first 3-5 days it really isn't nearly as difficult to resist. So hang in there! :)
