I guess there's no way of knowing which are right but you need them to be consistent. That's what I think about my FitBit - it might not be accurate but it is consistent so I'll take that for now. Have a great day, Mini!

Unfortunately a lot of scales are inaccurate. I returned several before I settled on the ones I have now. One way to test them is to get on the scales, get off and then on again - this time holding a 5 lb weight (for example). See if your scales go up by exactly 5 lb, then get off put the weight down and get on the scales and see if your weight is the same as the first time. If it's not take them back to the shop and complain.

At home scales need to be calibrated properly by steeping on them stepping off then putting a correct weight on then they will be calibrated otherwise you're wasting your time with scales at home if they're not calibrated

Thanks all. I usually weigh myself, pick up the cat and step back on, and then weigh myself again, but he wouldn't let me step on the scales while holding him - don't know why. These are ones that I reviewed - I'm going back to my old ones - which show body fat etc., too and these will go to the charity shop - with a note.

Use something other than a cat to calibrate then

Well done on the loss
My new(ish) scales always weigh me 1lb heavier than the old ones
( but they measure %body fat, that's what was broken on the old ones)
Onwards and downwards 👍👍
