Cleta's Journal, 19 August 2017

I am trying again to keep a close eye on food intake. Of course it is the end of the month where the food choices are limited. Started with very low b/p of 93/67 but high fasting blood sugar of 161.

You are doing fantastic, Cleta. Yeah, I can sympathize with the end of the month stuff. I am fortunate that my daughters pay for a membership to Costco. The Romaine lettuce and eggs are very reasonable. I also tend to pick meat at the beginning of the month (that are cheaper than in the stores, otherwise I wait and watch for sales) and just get it all cooked up at one time. An example is turkey hamburger on sale can be cooked up and used as topping on a taco salad. A number of folks around here have backyard chickens and sell their eggs pretty cheap also. Unfortunately the Farmer's Markets are pretty pricey, but sometimes worth a "splurge."

Excellent drop Cleta! I find the best way to keep on top of your diet is to weigh and measure everything then record it in the food diary. It seems a lot of to do at first but becomes easier and quicker as you go on. Keep up the good work!

Great loss, Cleta! "Budgeting" grocery money *and* calories *and* blood sugar just complicates planning. I understand!
