Yesterday, Feb. 25 decided to count Full Carbs instead of Net Carbs. This is the old way of doing Atkins. Also increased my water to 100-120 oz per day and including a bunch of exercise. Can't lose anything counting Net Carbs. Will wait a month and see if my weight is going down. I know that my stomach sure is going down and my energy level now is increasing.

Diet Calendar Entries for 26 February 2010:
2174 kcal Fat: 150.30g | Prot: 169.26g | Carb: 20.11g.   Breakfast: pepper, cayenne pepper, atkins vanilla shake, mustard, Mayonnaise, eggs. Lunch: cheddar cheesse, water, ranch dressing, boiled egg, lettuce. Dinner: water, butter, shrimp. Snacks/Other: Atkins Advantage Caramel Chocolate Peanut Nougat Bar, water, water, water. more...

Good morning kmartin! Yes, will keep you updated. I am excited to be doing this! I might get scolded by some for doing the old way of Atkins but when a person is pushed into a corner after awhile you realize that you might have to fight your way out! I feel I am in that corner now and it's my own body I am fighting with!

Anlevon, you do what you have to do. No one here can tell you how you should do something. They can merely guide you and make suggestions. If it works, I just might have to give her a whirl...lol

Oh, I forgot to mention, I am not concerned with calories. At least not TOO concerned. Back when I did Atkins in 1995 or so, there wasn't much concern with calories on Induction. I remember back then just counting carbs. Didn't even know about the Net Carb thing.

I'm there with you Anlevon. I did Atkins for the 1st time about 6 years ago. I followed it accordingly and lost like 50lbs in about 5-6 months. If it was acclaimed to be so wonderful then - why did it change?

Glad you're here with me! I believe it changed because Atkins got a bad rap about being all bacon and eggs. Not heart healthy. However, for me it was only high fat during the first 2 weeks. I went into the next phases slowly after the first 2 weeks and was happily eating all kinds of vegies by the time I got to maintenance. All blood work was exceptional for me and my hypoglycemia was totally under control. I held my weight and ate many different things that were Atkins friendly until 2003 when menopause struck me like a frozen axe! All went downhill after that! The weight came on and Atkins went out the window. Here I am again....only to find how much has changed! Well, the change to Net Carbs just isn't working for me. Time will tell what's ahead for me.

Oh, and back then I found my CCL to be 60. Don't know what it'll be this time around but at least I have that to go by.
