And today, sugar fights back. What that means, specifically is that I'm having some pretty intense sugar cravings. I haven't, and will not give in but it's got me feeling fairly irritable. I took some old blood pressure medication and diuretics this morning because I can feel some discord in that regard. Sticking with the plan, it was never about appearance, always about resolving health problems.

Like a lot of things in life, cravings ebb and flow like waves you just gotta ride it out to get through to the other side when it starts getting rough.

A couple of supplements that you may want to look into that I specifically use to fight sugar cravings - L-Glutamine and Chromium Picolinate. You can google it and see many articles about the benefits. Hang in there!

What about some fruit? Strawberries are low glycemic index and sweet.

No thank you, I don't care for fruit.

I have a big sweet tooth myself. To curb my sugar cravings, I go for the bitter foods. I like to have a cup of cerasee tea first thing in the morning but not on a daily basis. I only do it when I've tickled that sweet tooth and want to get back on track. There is also bitter melon. Everything in moderation.

Is it something in the air? I suspect I overdid the protein so started running on glucose again. Yesterday I was mad certain I was going to emotional-eat and that it would involve sweets. Had 15g dark chocolate (1.1 net carbs) and shockingly the first bite made the sweets craving go away. Maybe like CJIrie said it was the bitter? Still irritable though. Hope this improves for you soon.

have a piece of chocolate.. .not a candy bar a piece of one or a bag of peanut m and m's.. .if you fight your craving you will just overeat other stuff. Satisfy it in a reasonable manor and move on

I haven't found that to be true, at all, NYCuws.

Chocolate actually besides stimulating serotonin and other feel good chemicals in the brain also contains more magnesium than just about any food you can get it in. But it comes with so much sugar it is NOT the preferred way to get it! LOL Magnesium is the one mineral your body needs to complete just about every process it undertakes. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you are still on Metformin, have the doctor check your B vitamin levels. Metformin stops the body’s absorption of B12 I believe it is, something fierce! In wimen worse than men but bith effected. My sister ran into this badly with her Metformin. The longer you’ve been taking, the worse it gets.
