You've got this. I was 215lbs in March. I weigh once a month. I was 175 in July. Decide what WOE you want to follow. Take one day at a time. Log all your food. Everything, on good and bad days. Log your exercise. Check the message board often for motivation. Don't beat yourself up. Think about how you will feel when you are healthier. Focus on that. Don't waste your time or energy being disgusted. Seriously, you can do this.

Marsha, smile 😊. You can do this!! One meal, one day, one pound at a time! Just start with small, healthier choices and go from there. Honey, if this very large, disabled foodaholic can do it...so can you. 😜. We're all right here with ya! ❤️

You dig a tunnel through a mountain one shovel at a time...way to start is to decide to start, set goals, plan on how to meet the goals, then
Implement the plan...go for it

Do you have a plan for food each day? I do best when I log my food like a menu - and then stick with it. Drink plenty of water and get a little exercise even if only a walk around the neighborhood. You can do it!

You can do this! My highest weight was 230 lbs. I dropped to 130, went back up to 195, and now I'm working my way down AGAIN, currently at 178 lbs. The best advice I can give is to log all of your food, even if you have to guess on some items. That accountability alone and knowing what you're eating, instead of allowing yourself a little here and there, makes a huge difference. And if you don't have a food scale, I'd recommend buying one too (they're usually discounted on Amazon). I struggle with diets that restrict whole food groups personally, but that structure from a diet plan can help too. I wish you the best! This community has been very supportive, so don't be afraid to vent or share your victories here. It really helps :)

Sorry, but, you are ADORABLE. You already shine and you're just getting started! 😊 You can do this. You are one of those individuals that will be an utter knockout when you lose 30 pounds or so. That's a hell of a lot less than I had/ have to lose. If I can do it with my insane life, so can you! 😊

Marsha, my highest weight was 285 lbs. I lost 75, regained 15, lost 10, regained 15, and sat there for over a decade.
I began again on July 1st, at 231.5. This past month, 20 pounds gone! I have a new attitude born of a *decision*, a *commitment* to myself, to take hold of my health and my future. No looking back at how I've failed myself or, as you say, "let myself go." I have "hold of myself" -- my *health* -- perhaps for the first time in my life. So, grab hold today! Don't give up on yourself. We will help you!

Miraculum's real name is 'Miracle Worker'. She brings the hope and sunshine ☀️ to all of Marsha so get ready for a 'nice daily dose from the Miraculum Worker'. She really has a very inspiring story that she has shared and yes she is right? Put the past behind you and let's get on with the task at hand. Taking care of the most important and deserving person you know? YOURSELF!

Hi, Donna9970 -- My recent posts explain what I've been doing since July 1st and my progress. Here's how to find it:
-- Click the "MY FATSECRET" tab;
-- Click the "MY GROUPS" link on the right side of that page;
-- Click the group link entitled "60+ with 50-100 lbs to Lose"
-- Click "Global Weight Loss Program"
The first message in that Group Forum is my recent story.
You can also "search" for any member's posts to get all of anyone's recent posts. I've posted a lot in my enthusiasm to share how excited and happy I am with my progress so far.
And, I invite you to "follow" anyone who inspires you or whose story parallels your own in various ways (age, the diseases they struggle with, how much weight they have to lose, and -- especially -- people whom you've found to have lost a lot of weight)
Best Wishes!
Pat/Miraculum

I'm in the same boat. It's week 2 and I am focused. Pick a day, chuck out the really bad foods and do it one day at a time...with maybe a treat to work towards. Good luck 👍

There's lots of really good ideas on this site from a number of people. Just remember different things work for different people because, guess what? We're all different! Don't be afraid of trying one thing for two or three weeks then changing it if that doesn't seem to be working for you.
Mini-milestones are quite a good idea too - after all, even if we're eating a whole bar of chocolate, we do it in bite sized pieces. Weight loss is the same. One thing I would suggest is that you have a health check with your Doctor or Practice nurse before you start. If you're always tired and feeling low there could be something underlying that needs treating (maybe a mineral or vitamin deficiency). Take one step at a time and all the very best with your endeavours.

Dump the carbs; they're making you crave more carbs so you eat more. Take some Ashwagandha (Indian ginseng). It's a natural chill pill, gives you energy, and straightens out your hormones. It's one of the six supplements I take that I know actually helps me. That and my chewable magnesium. That keeps the trains running every day. :-)

Same way as me, by applying yourself and changing your habits.
Easily said I know, I weight 266lbs but when I get back from holiday in a weeks time, the work starts.
I've already told my wife I am emptying the cupboards and binning all the bad stuff.
Unless I want to have a stroke or diabetes which runs in my family I better sort myself out so you should pick a day and set your boundaries, whatever they may be (you know take away once a week) (one night of alcohol)
and stick to it.
It's not a sprint but a marathon and I should be 100lbs lighter.
100 weeks of eating healthily, I may get close if I'm lucky!
Good luck in your journey, think of it in those terms, not just a diet but a change of lifestyle.
best wishes
