SLLockhart's Journal, 26 July 2017

I am done for the evening, eating that is.
My Macros are as follows:

Calorie Breakdown:

Carbohydrate (11%)

Fat (69%)

Protein (20%)

Not too bad, for a person who is just learning about eating low Carb.
I am happy with these results and I think that going to 11% carbs will help me to reach my goals.

Don't be surprised if you have a lot of digestive gas. it could be poor fat digestion. I have been having gas all the time and i just raised my fat to 25%. You're eating a lot more fat than me. I burp a lot, even when i am not eating. i have only been eating 25% fat for about a week now, but they say it will get better with time. Hope it does.

Thanks for the comments T8U9, and Crstlgls, I am working hard on this macros thing. lol Crstlgls, I don't have as much gas as I used to have when I was eating so much other stuff. I don't have the gas now at all. I also don't have to take any heartburn meds since I have been going down this road. Thanks for the interest tho. Sorry you have gas. I have never heard that fats will cause gas, but I don't know much about this either.

I thought the macros we're 80% fat, 15% protein, and 5% carbs. Am I wrong?

Keto has a wide spread for what works. I opt for more protein because I lift weights.

I had a person request to follow me, but I don't know how to accept that person. Can anyone help?

Megwalker1, I think, now remember that I am not sure, that everyone's Macro's are different according to their age, weight, and fitness level. That may be why my macros seem different, they are supposed to be. Thanks for the comments folks!!! I appreciate all the input I get here. Makes me glad to have found your all.

Thanks to all of you who post here. It really helps me as I am a beginner and I have no idea what I am doing. I do know that the calculator said I need 80% fat, 20% protein and 5% carbs. I went over on the protein yesterday (my first day on the program). I am not sure how to get more fat (which I did not meet that goal yesterday) without eating more protein. Does anyone know how to get more fat in the diet without eating more protein? Thanks for any replies I might receive.

@magwalker1 cook in budget and oil. Also drizzle oil over your food sometimes

Since you are a beginner, you might want to up your carbs, 20-25 less than 35 so you don't get head aches , hunger pains, cravings and KETO FLU. The longer you stay on Keto, you can then lower your carb intake, as your body is not use to low carbs, then work on net carbs, take it slow, for me this took a few months. As for fat, I used my own body fat as my fat source and tried to not add extra fat as I had plenty of body fat, research has called if fat deficit.I was adding the extra fat in beginning, but not loosing weight after months. There is much information on youtube and web sites. You just need to experiment and see what works best for you as everyone is different. We are all here to help in anyway we can. Good Luck on your journey.

Thanks DO N OK, that is very sound advice there. I will look into it. I know that some days I eat more carbs than I did yesterday. I just want to keep them low as I can. I want my body to seek my fat to fuel itself. Thanks again, for all the comments.
