YES! My partner used A1C tests to address diabetes dx with diet only. Their doctor was baffled, had never seen anyone do that. Now not even in pre-diabetic range. I'm so proud, but now I have to up my own game. Love seeing others take this approach as well! So happy for you.

Super results for your effort. I too have kept A1c at around 5.3 for over a year following low carb. You go girl! 🎉

I know the feeling! I've been diabetic for 16 years. I had initial success with my numbers, going from 285 to 210 pounds. Then I relapsed into eating like a madwoman. I gained 25 pounds back and kept it on. In the last year or so, my blood sugar averaged in the mid 200s and my A1c varied, 8.4%-9.6%. I was headed for disaster. I could handle the neuropathy in my feet, but the prospect of kidney failure finally hit home when I was referred for a nephrology baseline evaluation. Only by the grace of God do I have no heart, kidney, or retina damage. The jig is up! On July 1st, my husband and I started the Global Weight Loss Program with a local integrative medical practice: MD, DC, and PT surpervision with a diet of *real* food (basically fresh low-carb fruits and low-carb fresh/frozen vegetables, no added fat, moderate protein, 1200-1500 cal./day max); daily doses of proprietary liquids (three types of drops: amino acids, raspberry ketones and herbals, and green tea extract and herbals) for nine weeks, repeatable till goal achieved. It's great to report that my average BS has been under 120 since beginning the program. I've cut the dosages of Humalog and Levemir (short- and long-acting insulin) by more than half. This progress is as important to me as losing weight at this point in my life!
