Rest and ice may help...good luck!

Thank y'all. HCB I sure will be icing it down. Still hurts but took some meds to help ease the pain. Put some compression on it too. Maybe that'll help.

We are all in this together. Take it easy and allow yourself time to heal. I am sure God will reward you for your effort to lose weight. I am recovering from a dental procedure and am just now able to eat "real" food again. I define real food as other than ice cream, pudding, yogurt, etc. that is soft, but loaded with sugar. I too cannot do normal exercise for about 10 days. I am restricted to walking. Hang in there.

Mine took a week to heal, but I was diligent in using the crutches to get around. As far as weight loss goes, just eat less to make up for the lack of exercise you'll be doing until you heal. I second Poppy on her basic "RICE" treatment.

Wow -- you are doing so very well. I looked at your profile, and to go from 234 to 199 in the past few months is just extraordinary, especially given the emotional stress you've been under. Congratulations.

sorry you got hurt! I am still mending after 8 weeks from two broken/stress fracture bones in my foot, so its slowing down my exercise desire to get going since this is my first week on the Keto plan. Gonna lift some weights while I watch T.V. and stand in place and dance a bit.....easy dance!

emilygu, the ice is the best. When you ice it, it keeps the scar tissue from forming, so that will also help you to heal faster. Keep up the ice, no matter if you are feeling better or not, cause it will be better for it in a long run.
As said in another post, eat a few less calories to make up for the lack of exercise. You will be back with a vengeance before you know it.

Let me tell you washing can be dangerous and you just verified that theory. I broke a rib fighting with my washing machine a while back. Still hurts. I sure hope you heal soon, but remember to let yourself heal too. No sense pushing yourself and expecting an injury to heal faster!

'RICE' correct. It's always on the ER discharge papers. You'll get better if you give yourself the little break to heal. Then, jump back on the horse...you know what I mean.

I have to go up and down a long flight of stairs to do laundry, and it worries me. I'm thinking of getting a stair lift--LOL! Take good care of yourself, Emilygu.

Thank you. :) the washer decided to flood so I know the water and all the stuff around helped put me falling. Feeling pretty good today. Hopefully by Wednesday I can walk without a limp. We will see.

Hang in there. From reading other posts I see you lost quite a bit of weight. Congratulations! Remember just to keep on trying and you wiil get the desired results. Think of this injury as a slight detour. I am not able to exercise right now either except for walking.

Thank y'all for the kind words. Thank y'all for motivation and suppose. Thank y'all for the advice. I did ice my ankle down and the swelling is surprisingly not as bad as I thought it would be. Even after walking on it today slightly. :)
