First time in memory, non-scale victory...I HAVE THIGH GAP!!!!
Today was a busy day around the house. I did a lot of things I've been avoiding for a while, like deep cleaning the kitchen, putting down new flooring, measuring the shed door that was damaged in hurricane Matthew (to go get a new one) and a few others. This evening, I was walking around the house, and something felt...weird. For the first time I can remember in my life, my thighs weren't rubbing together! I actually put my hand down between them, and sure enough, there was a space between my upper thighs. Whoa!
A little history: I was a skinny child, until I was about 6. I did't have much of an appetite, which worried my mother. We lived in Colombia at the time, and she took me to a local doctor, who determined that I was deficient in vitamin B. He put me on a couple of supplements, which caused me to become ravenous. 6 months later, I was probably close to being clinically obese. Since then, I've struggled with weight issues, with the exception of the 80's, when I was a cocaine addict. When I got clean, I got fat. I obviously don't remember a lot about the time I was thin in the 80's, nor did I really care about thigh gap. :/
But today, for the first time I can remember, my thighs don't rub together when I walk. I can wear shorts, and not have them bunch up in my crotch. I can walk, and not get a rash.
I feel like I'm walking into uncharted territory, sweat-and rash-free!
I remain, raw and unedited,
~Kes

I remember how surprised and how strange it felt to have a thigh gap when I first lost weight! I also was a skinny child and gained a lot of weight at age 7 when I was misdiagnosed with hypotyroidism and given Synthroid. I have been struggling with my weight ever since. That's a great non-scale victory. Congrats!!! :)

Fantastic result! I know we use the scales to keep track but it's truly the non-scale victories that matter! 👍🏻

One of my son's was really skinny until he was about 6 and then became normal weight. I did take him to the doctor as he was so thin but I'm glad now the doctor didn't give him any meds. Congratulations on your non-scale victory. Great journal 🙂
