Johanne's Journal, 27 February 2012

It's Monday.

The only problem with getting to know and love my friends on here is the heartbreak that comes with theirs. This year has been full of heartbreaks, frights, failure. Of course the flip side of that is, the year has also been full of healing, rebuilding, success and joy. In other words, LIFE. I seem to spend my time praying and rejoicing, both at the same time.

Although this cold is a b**ch, the weekend has been fairly successful. I haven't grossly overeaten or eaten the wrong things. I walked out of Walmart on Sat without Nutella, even though I was hungry when we went. I got a fair amount of work done, although I had to sit and breath fairly frequently. I did miss the event is St. Louis, but it really was a wise decision.

I'm off to water my huge, indoor herb garden and get my hair braided. I'll check in later.

Ta!

You got hate those colds, you feel bad but not bad enough to stay in bed. I would love to see your herb garden as well. I grow them outside in the summer but haven't been able to keep them thru the winter with the short daylight we have in the middle of winter. But I love having them, nothing like getting your own fresh herbs whenver you need them.

Nicely done, Johanne. Walking out of Walmart without Nutella. What is Wally World, Stef? I also vote for a pic of the herb garden. Get better soon and have a great day.

I will answer for Stef... Wally World is an slang word for Walmart. Not sure who came up with that ... but we all seem to say it.

Sandy, I started calling it Wally World after the movie "Vacation" came out with Chevy Chase...they went to Wally World! lol Sorry Heather!

I just asked my boyfriend if he knew. He sad "do you mean Find Wally?". Something about a red and white striped shirt, a Santa hat and glasses. Now I feel REALLY out of it.

LOL! Heather, that's "Where's Wally." It's a kids book/game. I think a lot of us started calling Walmart "Wally World" after Chevy Chase's movie. Sandy, thanks for the ((((BIG HUG!!!))))) Stef, considering I'd never tasted Nutella a few weeks ago, it seems to occupy a large corner of my mind now. LOL!!! FOL, my herb garden looks a bit peaked this time of year. Over the winter with low light, everything gets very leggy and not very flavorful. When I put everything back outside in a month or two, I will clip them back to about 6" and let them go to town. I have a lemon verbena plant that's over 12 years old now and I was never ever able to winter one over before that. It's my miracle plant. The rosemarys always do well, but the basils get pretty leggy. The thymes and oreganoes also do pretty well. Heather, I was very proud of myself. Nutella is EEEEEEVIL! I'm working on getting rid of the cold. Sazy, I'm trying to be a good girl and not sit here like a drippy lump. It's not easy. :-) Hugs everyone. I'm on my way to bed.

No, that is Waldo, as is WHERE'S WALDO, Heather!! Wally is a giant moose in the movie "Vacation" outside a Disney style theme park! lol

No Walmart in the UK but quite a few Wally's (idiots) though. Jo are you low carbing as there is an alternative to nutella, tastes the same but very low carb, sadly still high on calories...and you have to limit yourself as the sweeteners give you really bad gas...lol. I get it online over here, it's called choco hazelnut and is by a company called cavalier

I love that Chevy Chase movie!! Love his Christmas movie, too! I am laughing at Where's Wally and Waldo. Aren't we a bunch of funny people. I saw the nutella while I was in Walmart last week and something was nagging me that I should buy it. LMAO!! Glad I didn't..

WALDO! My kids were grown and gone when Waldo showed up. LOL! Di, unfortunately, I'm calorie counting and eating high complex carbs. Nutella and other high calorie goodies are just straight out. Sandy, don't ever succumb. Nutella is EEEEEEVIL! (And the thought of it is driving me crazy. If I had sugar in the house, I would have made fudge last night, all because of Nutella. I wish I had never, EVER tasted it. LOL!!!)

My youngest son could spot him right away and i would have to look and look. He would get frustrated with me. Come to think of it that hasnt changed. I also saw the nutella at walmart and almost bought some. Its good for you no?

LOL! I could never find him either. No Nutella's not good for you. The first ingredient on the label is Sugar. The second ingredient is Palm Oil (50% saturated fat). It's better than it used to be, but it's definitely not a "health food." It is, essentially, fudge in a jar. Amazing fudge, but fudge all the same. Hazel Nuts, Skim Milk and Cocoa (the other ingredients) are just fine. Nutella is not. Boy, do I wish it was!
