ZenRen's Journal, 25 February 2012

The past three weeks have definitely been one big zig-zag for sure. Week one, I had broken the 130's. That same weekend we had "Single Ladies Night" and I gained almost 4 pounds! Week two, I getting back into my routine to recover, and that time of the month started that weekend, so I retained a lot of water weight. Now, week three, I've gotten back down and am determined to stay here!

I've been eating more fruits now, which has helped a lot in the health department. Apples and cantaloupe are starting to become a staple of my diet here on campus, haha. Next is vegetables. I take in some, but not enough to call it 3 whole servings.

Exercising has been going well, too. On a good week, I get in 5 days of activity. I'm more motivated to get out more. Also, I've added some core training into my workouts, since I already work my arms in Kendo, and my legs during all of the aerobic stuff in my workouts. I hope it helps! I want my flat tummy!

I've also been looking at my RDI, and even if I eat exactly at 1500 calories, I lose less than a pound (about .8 instead). I don't want to lower that number, because I'll feel restricted otherwise. So to compromise, I've been eating 1400 on days I don't exercise (~2 out of 5 days), and 1500 on days that I do. (I guess being able to eat more motivates me to go to the gym? Haha)

This is lovely, I'm under the 5 pound mark (~3.3) until I hit the threshold for a healthy weight. When Taylor (my weight loss buddy) hit this point, she stayed there for months. Actually, she's still there. But she's working on it (I think desserts are her weakness, lol). It's been a long road for sure.

Okay, I said I wasn't going to set dates, but I've got to for this one! I want to hit HEALTHY (under 136) by St. Patrick's Day (which is also my half-birthday). I'm so close, and I really do think this is resonable (even if an "event" or something comes up. I can handle it!). It's pretty much a pound a week.

So this week, I want to continue as I've been doing. Except, I want to try creating a desert that I'll like that involves healthier things.

Wish me luck :)
