56 days to go
171.6lbs
17.7lbs to go (1.6 lbs to go to get rid of my gains after the dastardly carbs !!!!)
So, we survived another university open day.. roadworks meant 8 hours in the car.
We sat down for 3 hours for lectures and fior my daughter to eat. ( I had 2 teas and water during the day.)
Leeds uni campus was really hilly, with loads of steps and cobbles and old uneven paving.. so I had to hang onto my daughter instead of using walking sticks and was walking (slowly) for 5 hours! Yay for exercise.. boo for my swollen ankle.

Siting here on patio watching the mist rolling off the fields behind our house.tea in hand, kitten on lap and frozen peas on ankle ! Was supposed to rain, but we haven't had it yet.

Yesterday I managed to fast from 4 am to 7pm. Then ate steamed salmon and broccoli. TBH the broccoli was served in a bed of rice, so a few grains were unavoidable from my fork, but was proud of myself for avoiding the rest and dessert (I had a water and went to the loo while my daughter had hers). She didn't like the salmon, so we swapped plates and I had half her salmon while she had my rice😉
Managed 400 miles without the sugar from fat Coke. Yay!
So trying the same again today for Warwick uni open day.. only 90 miles each way, not 190 as I had thought🎉🎉🎉. Have lots of bottles of water and will aim for minimal Diet Coke as the sweetness still cause insulin spikes.
Last nite,I wasn't home til After 10pm so brought in a curry for OH( who doesn't cook ) and my daughter. Busied myself tidying while everyone else ate.. Doobrie the Peshwari and garlic naans and poppadums smell lovely, but I avoided them. Just made my tea and put the used tea bag on top of the breads before I cleared the plates and loaded the dishwasher.. they still smelt lovely this morning. You would be proud 😊

So, dishwasher and a load of washing done.Meds taken. Had 2 crackers with meds.. had to take extra naproxen to get my ankle less puffy for driving and walking today.. was the best I can do, so aiming for no carbs till 8pm for 16 hr fast today . Frozen peas from ankle back in the fridge.

I was speaking to my cousin yesterday for advice/tips about Leeds uni as she is a Leeds 👩‍🎓. It's her brother who's getting married in August, where I'm meeting all my relatives ( and the airport runs for a coupla days before the wedding). I was shocked how close the wedding is ( dunno why, you'd think I'd notice I write no of days to target each day 😂😂☺️☺️).I think talking about it made me more aware. So gonna use my fear of all my relatives seeing me fat to motivate me to avoid student food, motorway/restaurant food and takeaways today. It's gonna be difficult as I am tired And in pain and will be stressed as I'm taking 2 if my daughters 17 year old friends today aswell.. I suppose at least I am learning to recognise my triggers for stress eating !!!
Sorry for the long post, now I haven't time to check on buddy progress, so if I don't like/ comment I'll do it over the weekend.
Well, up and at them! Bring on the day.!
Have a happy and successful Friday fs friends 😎

Best of luck today. We had a wonderful thunder storm yesterday morning which freshened everything and then it went warm again.

In the face of these "obstacle course" days, you are doing brilliantly, Poppy - a real inspiration and hopefully others will take heart and strength from your ongoing success! Keep it up! xox

I think that weddings and reunions are strong incentives to lose weight because they give us a fear-based goal. I certainly don't want to bump into anyone that I have not seen in years with my current big belly and jiggly upper arms. I want to drop all of my weight before Christmas and wear a size 4 red party dress!

Way to avoid the rice pitfalls! 🙆🏻and a nice loss! You are doing brilliantly! I don't know if you saw my suggestion on your other post Hon, to maybe try a slice of provolone or maybe havarti cheese with your pills instead of crackers? It's working for me anyway. Crackers are a weakness of mine.

Thanks dragslist and realgonegirl.😁 Nanette I agree. I haven't seen a lot of my Irish relatives, including my 2 godmothers since July last year. I will collect some of time from the airport, so hopefully that will be interesting. Smprowett, I did put it on my shopping list but OH didn't buy it. Will try again My worry is that on long journeys, driving, tiredness , stress, low blood sugar and the early morning sun are all triggers for migraines. On several occasions I have had to have the car and myself brought home by delivery truck as my eyesight has been affected my migraine, aswell as vomiting and I have been rendered unable to drive. These days were too important to my daughter ( and her 2 friends yesterday) to risk that, but I will try your strategy on a less risky day. Thank you

Do you eat nuts, Poppy? They would be an easy option to take on long car journeys.
24 Jun 17 by member: Doobrie
Doobrie.. how do you always come up with some helpful advice for so many people? Great idea.. I was eating nuts before, but they sort of went by the wayside and I forgot about them 😊

Lol, Poppy! It's because I love nuts and have been including them in my diet just lately 🙂

Almonds and walnuts on the shopping list for today Doobrie 😁
