Tuesday, 6/20/17 Steps = 17,143

Okay. I know the loss looks pretty good this week, but to be totally honest, I changed how I weighed today. When I woke up I immediately weighed and had only lost .8 lb. Later, although I had eaten breakfast and drank water, I was down 1.8 lb after my 4 mile walk. I have decided to record the 1.8 lb and weigh-in after my walks from now on. I know what I lost today was water, and that next week my loss will probably go back to being small, but today I needed 'a shot in the arm'! I am working so hard and the loss is so slow. I just needed to see some real progress.

Another reason this will help me mentally is that with the hot weather, my walks are pretty miserable even if done early in the morning. Last week, after only losing .4 lb. I was disappointed and was tempted to cut the walk short. (Pity party of "oh poor me, I'm working so hard and losing so slow, blah, blah, blah...) Today, because I knew I would weigh-in again after my walk, I was motivated to to the full 4 miles & celebrate the sweat.

From now on, I won't know my loss until after the walk. That anticipation may just inspire me to walk faster and try harder.

I have been fat all my life. I don't know why my body is fighting me on this! With my loss so far my hip pain is gone and my knee and foot pain is greatly reduced. Next month I'll find out what the effect of my healthy eating has done for my blood pressure and cholesterol. Why doesn't my body respond faster to become healthy? I would think it would love this new, healthy lifestyle!
