After an 18-day streak of morning workouts, I took a one-week break, as much as it pained me to stop. I was completely exhausted. Not the normal tired, but zombified, like something might be wrong with me. I was having major issues waking up in the morning, which was a far cry from my usual energetic self. I figured it was my body telling me to cool it.

I did sneak in a couple of afternoon/evening workouts during that "week off", but mostly I spent that time missing my routine, feeling like a bloated blob, and wishing I could just get some energy back in the mornings.

After a long weekend of rest and a marathon sleep session on Monday (we're talking almost 2 pm), I'm finally feeling more like myself. I worked out this morning--30 minutes of cardio--and it felt good. Perhaps I need to get myself to bed earlier to make this morning routine work.

In other news, I just challenged myself to 40 workouts in 40 days for Lent. My plan is to vary my workouts as much as possible and take "rest days" periodically by doing light cardio. And I have four treats for myself that I'll try to space out over those 40 days--I bought a deal for four Bikram classes! I've missed it so much!

My weight loss has grinded to a halt. I'm thinking some diet changes are in order. We shall see what happens in the next week.
