John10251's Journal, 20 June 2017

It's getting to be decision time. I have upped my resistance training and I'm liking the cuts I'm starting to see. It has been a long time since I have seen them. My waist has been my guide. It's still 32 inches down from 38. My body fat is down also. I try to take advantage of my heavy days by working harder on building muscle. The result is that my weight is starting to trend up a couple of pounds. It seems silly to continue to try to maintain the same weight and gain muscle at the same time. I'm not going to make any changes yet. I'm going to continue to do what has been working but I may have to adjust my weight goal in the future...

I've been weight training since 1984, and it's always adjusting, this or that. Diet, rest, exercise, play time.

Are you aiming for the Hollywood 30" waist with the icecube tray stomach? (HOT!!!)

Thanks guys, I was starting to feel a little guilty about trying to have it both ways. @ Soonoonsoon, I'm willing to settle for 32" and a six pack. Seriously, I have never had very define abs. I would love to have my my waist flatter than my chest again...

Most physical exercise causes me to gain weight temporarily, but i lose fat too, which is ultimately best, losing fat is most important to me, finding the right balance of exercise, diet, weight maintenance is challenging when you've met your weight goal, seems your happy with your results. Keep up the good work.
