94 days to go.
So, yesterday I managed a 1.5 hour walk.
Did lots of housework.
Spent 3 hours on my feet cooking a roast dinner.. made Yorkshires and stuffing from scratch . Only ate beef, vegetables, 2 tbsp gravy and one stuffing ball.

Then, disaster. I made a family favourite.. pear and almond pudding cake. The smell got to me and I ate some. A familiar favourite for years, more stodgy than sweet, with the ground almonds and butter. Will try and work out the nutritional content of the recipe later...there wasn't thAt yummy chemical aftertaste of the shop bought cakes/ biscuits that I've tried since cutting out sugar to act as a warning to my brain!!
But I physically felt awful. My stomach ( and metformin) couldn't cope with the fat and sugar combo. My kidneys went into overdrive to rid my body of the enemy sugar.. so I was awake most of the night going to the loo!
And I ache all over from the walking and shopping at the weekend.

Hopefully, lesson learned.definately an unforgettable step on my learning journey.
Roll on hometime, think it will be an early finish ☺️☺️
Have a happy and successful Monday go friends xx

Going to the loo all night is good - most of it will have not hit the sides and been digested (hopefully). It shows how our bodies change when we feed them right. Have a good (better) day.

You deserve a prize! 1 1/2 hour walk, 3 hours of cooking, housework, shopping...that is an exhausting list to have accomplished! I am sorry your tummy was off and you were in pain :( Hope you have a blessed and safe Monday!

What a busy day! Those object lessons on what our bodies will accept are rough. I hope your Monday is better!

It's funny how your body rejects familiar foods after eating healthier for awhile. Makes us miserable for awhile but it helps to keep us on track by remembering what the body did last time.

Lesson learned, but well done on all the activity!

Yes, you threw yourself a backward curve ball, we have all done at least once. Sugar and fat kick me down too. Hope you feel better by now. BTY, the stiffness eases for me by MORE walking... :)

Thanks all.. I'm gonna keep trying to be active, as now I'm back sat work I sit at a desk for 5 or 6 hours a day.. I work between my school runs, so it's not even like I have a break to get moving a bit. Last night was definitely a lesson I wont forget in a hurray. Doing 16:8 fast today. We had a Rep visit this morning.. I was the only one in my team who didn't have juice/cereal bars/crisps/fruit/chocolate biscuits or pain au chocolat. So I think I'm back on the straight and narrow 😁 Heading home for a rest, but hopefully a walk later 😁

Does anyone know how to add in a recipe, need to work out the damage done by our pear and almond pudding cake 😱😱😱

I think you have to be on the full site to add a recipe, there's no tab to add on the mobile site. If I remember correctly, there's a tab for recipes and a link on the right hand side of the screen to add your own. Don't beat yourself up about a one time indulgence. I've been there, and it quickly devolved into "Well, you've already blown your calories for the day, might as well keep eating! " Kudos for being able to pull back to your plan! 👍

Hey Poppy! Great job on all the movement and activity! When it comes to those old favourites it's always tough. Sometimes I satisfy myself with a tablespoon full put on my plate while everyone else has theirs. It's enough to have a taste, and yet not normally enough to give me problems with the sugar. Though, just tasting the whipped cream for my daughter to get it sweet enough with honey for her had me in the potty a few hours later. 😞

One meal/food won't destroy you. It's best you let yourself have a bit of something here and there. And pear and pudding cake sounds pretty phenomenal.
