nativelady's Journal, 03 February 2012

I made it all week below my calorie limit and with my net carbs below 100g where the dr told me to be and I still gained 2 lbs this week. :( Not sure what the deal is. Yeah, I had two great weeks but then I gain two pounds. I even did my little workouts more this week than before and and I gained. What is it with the 15 lb mark that I always start gaining again when I hit that magic number? :( :( :( I hate this.
271.8 lb Lost so far: 13.0 lb.    Still to go: 131.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Give it more time. It could be a lot of things - food not yet "moved" through your system, water weight, muscle soreness, TOM, etc. If you keep doing what you are doing, it will work! Have faith. Just give it some more time.

That be just your body not wanting to conform to your orders Lass. No worries most of us face this...just keep it up one day at a time and you will break through. Disappointment is the enemies way of trying to derail you and keep you chained to your ways. You need to preserver and out last him. He will give in and you will see the scales move again. Trust me, Trust your corse!.....If'in it is 100% true Your diet calender looks fantastic...Stay the corse mate!.... Captain Shelm

Your body might be comfortable at that point or it could be making changes you're unaware of by a scales measurements. Just keep at it and you'll see the results. If you can't break that plateau after a couple weeks, you could try to zig zag calories. You can find a few articles about it online but it helps break a plateau by tricking your body. Keep up the good work!

My RDI is actually 2,000 calories. It was 2,100 but when I started losing weight pretty well, I readjusted it and it dropped. I got sick and I wasn't eating well at all. I got back up to eating about 60-70% of my RDI most days. As I said, carbs are right on track where the dr wants them, though they have been higher than when I first started because of a few days of things like Subway. I went the flatbread route instead of the bread. I could have cut the carbs more, but a girl gets tired of salad all the time. I had to make changes I could live with for a lifetime, not things that would guarantee weight loss but that I couldn't maintain. I will also be doing some measurements early next week. It's been a month and I want to see if the measuring tape tells me anything that the scale is not saying. I haven't pulled out the measuring tape since the day I started this, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Oh and in the cause of full disclosure, I'd have to admit that my diet calendar is only about 99% accurate. The discrepancy is because I tend to do things like toss the carrots out of my salad mixture because they went to cutting them too big for me to chew, or not adding in things like the garlic pepper or the dried cilantro that I use to flavor the salad in place of salad dressing since everything is zero'd out on the nutrition labels. I used to be a big Ranch dressing eater, but a few spices and a touch of sea salt makes a great replacement for carb laden dressings on a salad that has a variety of flavors in it already.

Well it definitely sounds like you're on the right track. Just keep going! I think pulling out the measuring tape is a smart move.
