need to cut WAAAY down on sodium... now that I am keeping track of all this it is terrifying to see how much over the recommended daily limit I keep ending up... although obviously eating things like pizza hut isn't healthy... I guess all we can do from here is improve, right?

For sure. The problem with sodium is that it's pretty much in all type of meats & mostly processed foods. To keep my sodium intake at a minimum I prepare my meals at home with fresh natural foods. Makes a huge difference because you can control how much sodium to use, or none at all.
