redgirl1974's Journal, 28 February 2017

haven't been journal-ing a lot this week. Just haven't had the time. Ive been sneaking in and logging food but yesterday was my first complete day in a while. This is how it starts for me. I get lazy and stop doing the work and weight starts to come back. SO i need to just make time, not excuses. I didn't even log my weight when I weighted in on Friday.. skipping it bc its a new week and almost time to weight again. MEH. Trying hard to turn this week around. Havent gained but dont want to get off track. So here is day two of me trying to log everything. I just want to have a whole week where I get it done. ANYWAY. on a side note, I have made some positive changes. Ive switched to several vegan items, like cheese bc it was really messing with my stomach bad.. and Ive great results.. so got some other vegan items as well like breakfast sausage.. gonna see how I like the changes. I hope every one has a great day ..

It's tough to stay on track, I've found maintaining is much more difficult than losing. People argue on here all the time about calories vs carbs, etc., but my experience has been that calories really don't matter because they're merely abstractions, carbs, fats, and proteins are real tangible things and if I let the taboo foods creep back in, all bets are off and I go on a psycho feeding frenzy, all that cute "just count your calories" malarkey goes right out the window.

truth - Phil. Honestly I never count calories and only focus on carbs and fats and I know I skimp a lot on the protein part. And yes. Agreed. Ive lost ALOT of weight but I have only successfully kept off about 92lbs for longer than an year.. Its an ongoing process.. haha Counting calories just doesnt work for me

That's cause it's not about the calories. Cut the carbs, moderate protein so you don't loose muscle and create your deficit from fat. KETO on...

Counting carbs works for me. I just can't have those darn refined carbs or I get derailed.

Hang in my buddy - logging is key. In fact, I often log ahead of time so I can follow it like a menu.

Glad you are feeling better and delighted to hear about the vegan food items being added into your diet. Plant based is THE healthiest diet on the planet-bar none and ditching the dairy sure made my life and gut sooo much happier. Cool that you are staying strong in wonderland. BTW, we like the Gardein Breakfast sausage patties at our house. We have 'em every Sunday with our tofu scramble and Ezekiel toast (my once a week "bread" treat).
