Day One: I hurt my lower back yesterday...more than a pulled muscle, it felt like a disk compressing or slipping, just above the sacrum. I'm fatter now than I've ever been in my entire life at 185 lbs. I gained this last 15 pounds really fast over the holidays. I'm highly motivated because I don't have health insurance and I know my back is directly related to my weight. So, the plan is to drop several pounds (10ish) very quickly by eating under 1,000 calories/day for about a week. In this week, I have eliminated all refined sugar, dairy, bread/pasta. By the end of the week I will eliminate caffeine. I then want to begin a 5-7 day fast. After that, I should be fairly well cleansed and my stomach should be shrunk so that I can reintroduce only the foods I want to keep in my diet, heading up to 1,400 calories/day. This is my goal... Like I said, nothing better than pain to motivate me. I'll keep logging for tracking purposes.
