nooo! late-night snacking ruined my good nutrition day again... my vices are cheese and whichever carb seems tastiest in the moment. 5 little mini butter cookies, in this case. It's so bizarre to know logically what a silly idea something is and still.. it feels out of my control. Like I'm watching myself eat these things, like my autopilot got stuck.

Throw out ALL bad items! I knife me and I have absoultely no self control after 8pm. The ONLY thing that keeps me from eating bad is that i don't have bad things available. The less tasty something is, the less you will want to eat it and you will start to view of food a fuel verses looking forward to eating.

When I get home, it's usually a couple of hours before I go to bed. An hour or so before I do, I have 2 cups of hot chicken stock, and nothing more. It's warm, it's filling, and you go right to sleep when you lay down without all the extra energy making you toss and turn. The extra water makes you really wanna go pee in the morning, but day after day, I've watched my weight come down and my Blood Sugar/Blood Pressure get better. Beats the heck outta what I used to eat after getting home!

I hear you, I have been there! Just when you think everything is under control, all hell breaks loose and the next thing you know you are reaching for those cookies. Just having them lying around in plain sight is a big mistake. When you feel this coming on, get completely away and go do something that will keep your mind off eating.

Chromium, it's been my biggest help for avoiding carb cravings. It helps keep your insulin levels stable.

I'm not sure how to respond to each comment individually.. THANK YOU GUYS, I'm super surprised and touched. :') jencarroll: you're so right. We almost never have cookies and when they're there, well, they don't last very long. joescape: Thanks for the advice! I love chicken stock. Do you make it yourself, use bullion, store-bought? I'm not usually too concerned about sodium (maybe I should be), but stocks do make me worry a little, that they'll make me retain. What are your thoughts on that? Feel free to personal message me. diehard3: Your encouragement is so nice, thank you. YES - I love that, get completely away. It's important not to think of yourself as more addicted to food than you are, but compulsive eating or feeling out of control are real issues that require significant intervention, huh? bvalorie: Chromium, huh? Interesting. I have pcos and take metformin and spironolactone to treat it.. I wonder if there would be any interactions. I will definitely try chromium.
