PixieGirl58's Journal, 24 February 2017

It has been a while since posting. I made an error and ate out two times during outing withMy Mom.
Foolishly I thought just getting ground beef patty without any seasoning and raw veggies within my food tolerant would be okay. Nope.
I had a Sever attack (digestive), I had to go see My Gastro doctor (I've Not been on any pharmaceutical drugs), however He suggested a antispasmodic medication to give my digestive system aid in Healing.
The drug, taken "as needed" gave me a massive migraine three days into taking it. Im not suppose to take any aspirin or Tylenol or such due to the state my stomach is in.
A Catch 22!
I have Recently been diagnosed with Crones... the "stomach ache" I always had as a Child, the fact I developed late (14 years old) were all indicators of being born with a digestive disease.

Hey Pixie Girl. I''m sorry to hear of the diagnosis. It's good to have one, though. I, too spent years of suffering with "digestive issues" before finally getting a diagnosis. I spent 10 years dealing with heavy flares and using scary drugs, like Prednisone, before finally having 1/2 my Large intestine removed. I will say that the past 5 years I have shifted to a plant based diet and the past year moving into a more whole foods plant based one. My last colonoscopy revealed a perfectly healthy colon and I've lived without side effects at all for over 2 years. The diet shift really did the trick for me. I am currently off all medication. Might I recommend some books for you to check out? "Eat to Live" by Dr Joel Fuhrman is a good one, as is "The Pleasure Trap" by Douglas Lisle and "The Healthiest Diet on the Planet" by Dr John McDougall. Best of luck to you. I know you deserve to have the best health, fueled by the best foods, for a long and happy life.

Selbygirl16 - another book that is very helpful for people that have eating issues is "Eat for your Type by Dr Peter D'Adamo. Some call it a fad diet but it actually makes sense and I found nothing that was harmful in the diet thinking.

Thank you everyone for your reading suggestions and support! Im finely feeling 100% better. My reality is No Grains, No Sugars, No Processed Foods and stay away from the Higher intolerances. Ive recently (this past weekend) added Slippery Elm powder. Wowza, MUCH more effective than the capsules. Im Very impressed. I made enough to fill a Mason Jar. Im doing Shots throughout the day an hour between Other nutrients and food. I also made two 8 cup batches of Beef Bone Marrow Broth (all of My Beef is Omega 3 & 6 balanced ratio's, grain free (to include the cows supplemental food) GMO free, Antibiotic free) a Texas Ranch (Slankers). I stay away from Carrots and all in their family, green beans, Mustard Greens, all squashes... im Moderately intolerant) to over 57 foods. I eat Collard Greens, Spinach, Broccoli, all Cabbages, Kale, cauliflower, Radishes, Bell peppers (sm. amounts), mushrooms, cucumbers, pickles, blackberries (5 a day), lemons (a squeeze into my shot of Slippery Elm), a variety of Raw nuts weighed and oiled with Toasted Cold Pressed Sesame Oil. I drink lots of Ginger Tea (I make using Real Ginger), and I cook with Ghee, Red Palm Oil, Garlic fresh and powdered, Turmeric (1 teaspoon daily), Cinnamon (1 teaspoon daily-in Whole Milk Grass Fed Cow Yogurt), Unflavored Gelatin in my yogurt, Freshly ground Nutmeg... over and in whatever suits my fancy, daily.... once I made a few more changes, the affects of the Attack have resolved and I am off prescription drugs. --Selbygirl-- Thank you for sharing your experience. Ive read and been advised by my Gastro Doctor of the same could be in my future the more attacks I have. Now that I understand the Why of what has gone on with My body, I feel Relieved and a bit Scared. This is My 59th Year of Living and I Want to Live another 40-50 Healthy! --- I do not tolerate any grains... i was eating Rice from time to time, Organic Corn Chips and Organic Popcorn. They are out of my life now!
