I'm shocked by the negativity from people towards at-home workout plans. While I understand that many people don't actually follow them, they're quite effective if you do. In fact, I can honestly say I probably workout harder with a home DVD because if I actually go to the gym, I'm usually on the treadmill or elliptical for awhile and then do a few weight lifting machines, usually half-heartedly, all the while talking to a friend and not really putting my all into it.

Ahh I wish my karate studio was still open. That was THE PERFECT workout environment. Even when I was younger, I trained with the adults AND the kids. So we are talking two-three hours a night, four days per week and then FOUR hours of "Fight Night" on Sundays! Can you say perfect bod?? (Ok I had no boobs but there's always implants right? hehe)

On a side note, bought a pullup bar (Iron Gym Extreme) and 10 lb. dumbbells last night for the P90X series. Hoping I can borrow my brother's 12 and 15 lb ones as the program progresses. As for the pullup bar...pretty sure I couldn't do one of those if my life depended on it!!!

Anyways, I can't wait to show a certain individual (or two) that you CAN get fit without going to the gym! Can't wait.

In the past I have tried to use at home workout DVDs and such, but I have such a hard time with the self-discipline you need to have in order to do those! I wish I could because I so completely agree with you that it could be very effective... ah well. Good luck! :)
