spot15's Journal, 17 February 2017

It has been one full year since I decided to get to a healthier weight to help with ongoing back problems and hopefully better results with future procedures. My journey began on 2/16/2016 at a weight of 220 lbs. My current weight on 2/17/2017 at the end of one year and beginning of year 2 is 178 for a total loss of 42 lbs.
This was done by tracking and logging, good or bad everything I ate or drank and a calorie intake of about 1200 a day and my carb intake was no more than 50% of my total calorie intake.
Due to current back problems exercise is nonexistent except for very little walking so progress has been a little slow but fairly steady and under the circumstances I am satisfied considering it could have just as easily gone the other way.
I made it a point no to give up any particular foods since this would be a life style change and not just a quick fix but to use honest portion control by weighing and measuring and accounting for everything that went into my mouth and for me at least this approach seemed to work.
I went into this journey with the intention of not inconveniencing anybody and not having to make special meals. Whatever was made is what I ate within my guidelines.
Today I am starting year 2 with a no time limit goal of 150 lbs.
178.2 lb Lost so far: 46.8 lb.    Still to go: 8.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 0.5 lb a week
